I don't totally agree here and will give you another side to the coin. No one is saying you should just take a supplement and hope to gain size. The one magic drink. That in itself is a crock of nonsense. You take it alongside a good diet to help you get more calories in and it without a doubt works. The comments about dirty bulking isn't always true. That's just bashing every bulking method and basically saying they are all the same. I have taken gainers in the past and I have many friends who have also used gainers and they have all put on great size and had no problems with the product. They simply do work and none of us looked like fatty's.
I tried like hell to put the so called (good) weight on. Honestly I did. Eating more calories, eating more food, basically turning into a health munching horse. I made multiple shakes on a daily basis packed with all the good food but that got tiring after a while and comes with its own set of problems. Its bloody hard and it also comes with its own sets of issues. I simply couldn't eat enough for my body to gain weight without feeling that I was over eating no matter what I switched it up with. I then decided to try Mutant Mass and my god did I see results. 3 months later I put on 25lbs and looked fantastic. I had never been bigger and felt great. I had some excess weight but that's normal. I stripped off about 7-8 lbs with a cardio routine over the next 6 weeks and I never looked or felt better. I would 100% recommend mass gainer products to anyone but as long as you use them properly with a good balanced diet and a proper muscle mass specified program because that is the goal of gainers is to put on size and mass. Not to build strength.
Also don't mix shakes with milk. That is god awful and will just destroy your digestive system and make you bloat. Use a 50/50 mix of almond milk and coconut water. Of the 5 friends I have that I know started using gainers they all made them with milk and they ALL had digestive issues, bloating and god awful farts. I recommended the change to almond milk and coconut water and EVERY one of them had no issues after that. A lot of these products get bashed because of these side effects while they drink multiple pints of milk in a day. Just crazy. My opinion. Try it for yourself and see. I bet you it works. That's why they sell well in the bodybuilding world.
Just my 2 cents. Jeff is a legend as always though. Love his content and what he brings to the table. My entire routine is based on his videos. Keep up the great work. Not being the odd one out just giving you my personal experience.
Happy lifting everyone!

If you wana gain mass buy USN Hyperbolic Mas and and after bulking up. You can cut with Creatine. It's a process. This guy is just dissing, because he knows very well that some other people's bodies are very skinny and no Matter how much they eat they don't gain weight. But if they use mass gainers they'll bulk up and then stop using mass gainers for good, they'll just cut. This guy does not know what he's talking about

Very interesting video Jeff but you take a very bad example as well. I'm not really fond of gainers and I prefer to take some good proteins but I have to say that a few brands make really important efforts to develop good gainer. Just have a look on Reflex Nutrition (UK. They really sell gainers based on a good composition. However, gaining mass fast is totally irrelevant regarding biology and physiology sciences.

This guy is full of shit when saying weight gainers are full of shit. Serious Mass helped put on 70lbs in one year. Without it I can do 30lbs tops with a dirty bulk. Of course you can't forget to fuel yourself with REAL food with balanced necessary nutrients to get the most benefits from your supplements. I don't know about this particular product, but not all of them are this bad.

What I usually recommend to people is to add a lot of brown rice and jasmine rice to their diets. As well as black beans, other whole grains and light tuna. Tons of healthy sugar free, high protein products out there for cheap! Just eat 3 large meals and you can usually get real close to your calorie goal if not beyond it when you're eating the right things.

You may not respond to this because this video is 3 years old! But, I am gluten free, and my diet is limited. I-m not always able to eat purely meat, but what would you recommend? That is why I am looking into mass gainers, alongside my natural minerals/vitamins/fruits etc. hopefully you respond if not I will contact you via email. Thank you stay big - (:

It is super easy to make a -mass gainer- shake that is far healthier than anything you can buy. Get a pint of whole milk, 1 scoop of whey, a banana, 2 tablesoons of peanut butter and 1 cup of 1minute oatmeal and blend them thoroughly in a blender until the oatmeal is really small. Actually good for you and probably cheaper.

Not every mass gainer is that bad, I packed on a lot of size using ON serious mass mixed in with some whole milk, peanut butter, and sometimes oats. It makes for a hell of a protein shake that is both calorie dense and easy to digest. Gained -20lbs of muscle (with a small amount of fat.
