t think it would be the best long term plan to achieve what it was that Sheamus was looking to accomplish. The decision was to train Nate: If your fitness goals centre on someone else (whether you want to impress them, intimidate them, or assure them, your path will always be harder than if you put yourself first and push yourself for you.
As a guy, I obsessed over how attractive women found me.
But if your primary goal isn't to feel better first, you're going to fail.
You run a mile in ten minutes and feel like shit and regretful, or do you run it in nine and want to be better?
Do you lift huge weights to look stronger, or to BE stronger?
If I get a six pack after cutting sugar, excess fat, and simple carbs, great.
It's a nice side effect.
If I can push my core workout an extra 5 minutes and sleep better, that's important to me.
I don't want us to think that Jeff's lessons are purely superficial, that it's all just looking better, but a group of men and women committed to BEING better.
Thanks Jeff for this spotlight on Sheamus, he truly is amazing.

Ive only a couple of years off forty. But a lot of the pain and extreme tightness makes it very difficult to even put much effort into weights. If i ever had the chance to meet jeff. I would tell him the first most important thing i need to sort out is making the back and shoulders strong again as that is my most painful areas. And cycling has very little or no effect on my legs. I feel like the average sixty year old is more fitter than me. I didnt have these issues fifteen years ago. But its gradually increased over time. And needs a serious fix before i can even think about trying to get stronger again. As every dumbell excercise the shoulders hurt garanteed every time. The back is just on a off with pain. I hate to think how it will be in ten or so years. A lot of it just feels like massive tension constantly. If i cant afford to go to gyms or go to yoga classes i need to learn as much as i can what i do from home.

Seamus is doing really well! Anybody can make a transformation. I was 33, I had recently got my hip replaced and would need the other done, I got told I was prediabetic and should think about my sugar intake if I could. I decided to go further than that so joined a gym. I then started getting crook with what would turn out to be multiple sclerosis. My trainer worried because I lost all my balance and fell over doing pushups and had to always crawl my way up the wall to stand up after a floor exercise. We pressed on though (under medical advise) and now at 35 I have lost 40kg, I'm down to 22% body fat and feeling healthier than EVER before! More chronically ill, but I ain't quittin! You're so right Seamus, ANYONE can do it!

I can also only strongly recommend to get used to train with -light- weights at higher age. or even sooner. I always loved pushing myself to the limit and setting new PRs with higher and higher weights. When I came close to 40 I could already feel that if I'd continue this way of training I'd pay the price soon.
Now I train with only like 30-40% of the weight I used to and increased intensity through reps, volume etc. I also found out that even though everyone told me it wouldn't work 5-6 days a week of a full body pump workout works best for me. And it is an awesome feeling to leave the gym with every muscle pumped up and without any sore/painful joints anymore. :D

I'm 50 years of age and I have accomplished the look and level of fitness that Stallone had in the 80's and 90's in the last year. I owe most of this to my OMAD diet and of course the hard work that I put in at the gym and the park bars but I would be remiss if I left Jeff out of the conversation, he has kept me safe and healthy with his tips on safety and proper form but he has pushed me as well to go the distance, to stop my mind from being my worst enemy and go too FAILER. I am not a man who wants bulk but I do want to be strong and healthy and with Jeff instructing me, I am well on my way. Thanks brother and take care.

Certainly doesn't look any smaller. I used to be worried about loosing size to get lean. A couple of years ago I decided to hell with it, I was going to get leaner. I did, but I lost size too. Then I found you guys and a few other's. Learnt a great deal and have regained some of that lost size while getting leaner. Still a little bit of fat over my belly that I mean to shift but far less than there has been in a very long time now. So thanks.

I bought one of Jeff's program and my life changed. I'm on my fifth week, I've lost 22lbs, I dropped my BF from 29% to 23% but most importantly I found the nutrition easy to follow and to stick to. I can see myself eating the way I've been eating for a long time with a few cheat meals every now and then. I'm definitely buying another program from Jeff once I finish this one (BEAXST.

Making significant changes is so psychological. Forget the knowledge of nutrition, exercise, cardio, etc. It all starts with the right mindset and you getting ready to really accept a lifestyle change, taking ownership of YOU, breaking bad habits, and no BS excuses You can hire the knowledge when the time is right (trainers, nutritionists, yoga instructors, etc.

i don't mean to detract from the amazing transformation seamus managed to undergo through lifestyle and intense training, but when you got him to lift his shirt i had no lights on in my room and my laptop brightness almost burned my eyes to the point of blindness. All joking aside this was very impressive for 6 months, congratulations on the dedication Seamus!

Jeff I have a question about when we should start eating for building muscle? I was in calorie deficit for about three months and lost fat but still have a bit in my abdominal area. Should I eat for building muscle and the fat there will be taken care of by building more muscle or should I still be in calorie deficit given than I am still reducing size?
