Every adult hobby/contest is like this. Men's league hockey cost me about 1000 before I pay for any new equipment and that's not counting the gym and other related costs. At the end of the day you do it for you and if it turn into something cash flow positive that would be great. All that said, the winner should get something better than a trophy, at least your entry fees back or something.

The price of competing is an absolute joke, and at the end of the day the promoters make heaps charging the competitors families way too much to see the show. My mates show was 40 a ticket! Do you reckon this will stop you competing in the future?

Good luck with the rest of your cutting process, I get what you are saying in terms of how much we have to pay for fitness competitions since when you think about it, the people on stage are the talent and should be paid, not have to pay; )

Im 17 6'2 190. i bench 195 and squat 220 ass to grass but i cant deadlift because of back issues am i on the right track working out for about a year and a half
