I like the balanced view on the subject, but you forget the benefits of giving your body the shock while in a fasted state, at least after 24hours. Our ancestors did not lose energy while hunting on an empty stomach, their body adapted accordingly. With creating higher levels of testosterone levels, human groth hormone and other benefits to keep the body going and focus in finding food. You have to remember that your body is on fight or flight mode to survive on food. Still it is recommended to eat healty after with all the nutrients you need and dont do these types of exercises too often, so you still get the benefits. I personally only do cardio fasted 4-5 times a month, so my body doesnt get used to it. And the results are fantastic and I feel great working out.

Well how about this. Youre eating keto, so theres no carbs or sugars to refeed with later in the day, you do intermittent fasting, your last meal was 12 plus hours ago, you take a nice sized serving of acetyl l-carnitine and caffeine both of which facilitate the fat cells for usage as fuel, you do a crushing weight/resistance training sesh, destroying any possible glycogen trying to hide around in your body like a little sneaky snake and THEN after all this frigging time and effort you do some fasted cardio. Then you go the rest of the day and dont give your body the sugar and carbs the fat cells greedily want. Now tell me fasted cardio doesnt make a difference

That's funny because when I started doing fasted cardio I started burning 4 pounds a week for 2 months straight, compared to when I was doing fed cardio I only burned about 1 pound per week, and that is me rounding for the fed cardio. So your answer is flawed. Just because someone does research and experiment and says some stuff are not true, it does not mean they are right. There are a lot of information and variables they don't count on. Remember scientists are not god, they are not perfect. The best way to try something is to experiment it yourself and I have played with fasted cardio and it does work so much better than fed cardio, it's not even funny.

Great info Thank you for sharing your findings on those studies I really enjoyed your video I was planning on starting fasted cardio (since it has so beautifully worked for most women i know) But i am a little worried because I tend to have high hormonal levels in the morning and until I eat i really get annoyed at everyone and everything and feel almsot out of control with my emotions. I would love to hear more about how hormones play a part in losing fat whether it be fasted cardio and fed cardio And how to maybe fix it or improve it. And much much more about hormones would be awsome

Short answer is yes. Fasted training with things like yohimbine hcl and hmb (which is just a metabolite of leucine to preserve muscle over a 2 month cut or so) actually increases fat loss. You can add other supplements to increase these effect. Like egcg being better absorbed on an empty stomach actually can maintain the effectiveness on the same dosage. Also, if you're maintaining calories to burn fat it doesn't matter. Just do what you want. Fasted training can increase fat loss to stubborn areas with yohimbine with the alpha/beta receptors related to the insulin response.

I really don't like when you talk about subjects you are not knowledgeable in. Working out fasted has been absolutely proven to increase fat burned during your workout. That is really the simple end of the discussion. What you do post workout dictates how your body responds, I. E. if you eat a bowl of pasta immediately afterwards you are not doing yourself any favors. However, if you are on a low carb diet eating you are 100% going to burn more adipose fat over the course of time than eating prior to exercise. It's a very simple concept with science to prove it.

Thomas DeLauer referenced a study once that claimed that late into the fasted period there is relatively more bloodflow to the dermal layer of the belly implying that relatively more fat metabolising hormones will reach there as compared to the rest of the body? If you've done the secondary research on this, what's your opinion on fasted cardio as a potential for actual spot fat reduction (relatively. I mean you'd expect fat to be deposited there first as well when you broke said fast so it might just cancel out.

I think it makes sense. You get the vitamins and carbs to fuel the workout, the workout burns those calories. Then towards the end it's exclusively fat burning as opposed to fat and carbs. But at the end of the workout you have alot of energy from the meal and from having just worked out. So with a revved up metabolism you're burning more fat for hours after without eating. While fasted cardio you're less likely to do much else after the workout itself, because you naturally have less energy

Jeff. I love all your videos. I must say though, your arms and legs are really short. Like very. I dont think people realize how small you are. This mini size is a big reason you look so big. Shorter frames are much easier to build a bigger look. Just wanted to State this for the normal size people that dont understand the illusion, so they know on their own journey. Dont stress if you dont look like Jeff. People who are not tiny take longer but it will come with consistent work peeps
