LOLOL sorry but its simple and so many people complicate it. We werent born with mobile phones neither were cavemen so THATS unnatural Caveman wasnt born eating low nutrient food with less and less vitamins and minerals due to artificial fertilizers antibiotic fed animals was he? What ever he ate had on current estimations i understand 1300 to 1700% more vitamins and minerals within food however unvaried. We are designed as a species for high nutrient food. So how can your body work optimally. and even absorb protein for example without the inherently required vitamins minerals phytonutrients adaptogens flavonoids etc. It cant. If any dumbo. including cliff wilson. thinks you can do it either way OPTIMALLY. eating pop tarts. and capatain crunch. lololThey are simple dumb and deluded and best left to their own devices. Sorry for my rant but people we need some common sense here. If your food doesnt come out of the sea. or fly. or feed on the land. or come out of the animal like eggs. or if it doesnt come out of the ground. or from a tree. then you really shouldnt have much of it. quite simple right. it matters and it always did matter. all the fake so called foods are a relatively recent phenomenon from the last 100yrs or so. but really supercharged into the public domain over the last 45 years.

As someone that lived on street food in between deployments while attached to special forces: you can, and it does indeed not matter. My diet in SE Asia while training to chase the MILF (muslo-Islamic liberation front, not the fun kind): a multivitamin, followed by a breakfast beer, eggs bacon/ham and 250g rice, another beer, and then appx 2lbs of chicken steak or ham grilled or fried and appx 500g more rice with another 3-6 beers. Mixed tempura vegetables and potstickers and things like that for variety. Also lots of lamb. Reason for this diet was you cant trust the food in most places, so by eating this way you can watch them literally grill or fry that shit in front of you and by drinking beer/alcohol all the time, you dont run the risks of drinking contaminated water and giving yourself the shits or much, much worse. When around actual civilization did grab bottled waters, but otherwise all my water intake was from beer or mixed drinks with 80proof or above. During that, maintained 242lbs and 8-10% bodyfat (I'm 6'6) doing 3mi in appx 20-21 mins, 100 pushups

I was coached by Jeff Alberts with 3DMJ and he introduced me to flexible dieting and macro counting. I got in my best shape with his help using the iifym approach (really dont like that acronym because its been used as an excuse to just eat a bunch of processed garbage. Recently I was introduced to Stan Efferdings Vertical diet which is micronutrient based and then stacked with macro dense foods preferably unprocessed. I immediately (within two days) fixed my leaky gut/ibs issues, simply by selecting healthier choices of food that were low on the FOD MAP. I agree that on the aesthetic side the difference in food choices may be negligible, but in the performance side it can be a game changer and as Jeff used to tell me performance drives the quality of your physique

Jeff I have always found this discrepancy between the opinions of how much protein to consume between non-vegan body builders and vegan body builders. Many vegan body builders talk about not being able to hit their protein intake. Many of them have gone on to make videos of how this has been a constant struggle and finally they have realised it hasn't impacted their gains. Some of them have made videos on the concept of how the rule of 0. 8-1 gm of protein per pound of body weight may not be a real necessity. Please discuss this topic whenever you can as I myself face a lot of difficulty in hitting my protein goals but have progressed equally or even better than many of my peers(friends I workout with) on this fittness journey.

I think his question also goes into the health aspect of it. Assuming we agree that 6% bodyfat is not healthy, this guy's questions regarding the micronutrients is talking about longevity. Sure micronutrients might not play a big role in losing fat/gaining muscle, as compared to macronutrients. I believe that recommending someone to eat wholefoods to get both Macro and Micronutrients, instead of packaged/ processed food, is better. As they are developing a habit of choosing the quality of their Macros, even when they are out of the bodybuilding world, they will be bringing on the new habits into the next chapter of their lives.

I agree with this a lot. One of my coworkers used to body build and he showed me pictures of what he used to look like, he looked really good, and he told me about how much he liked dirty bulking. I tried it and hated it, i felt slow and groggy and when I looked in the mirror I just saw fat. I went back to my old habit of eating clean, trying to get as many carbs and calories as I could. I looked more leaner and felt happier. For some people clean eating is hard but for me It's just the way I prefer and it works for me.

Jeff, in regards to this specific question and how you answered by saying, that some people get better results with a higher fat, lower carb diet, or a higher card lower fat diet or even just hitting their macros. I ask this, have you done any research into eating for your blood type? I only ask because I know numerous people who have started this and they say they feel better than ever. I wanted to know if you've seen anything in your research regarding this newer dieting technique and if there was any truth to it.

Hi Jeff, Hope you are doing well. I love watching all your videos. I wandering if it was possible to do a video explaining the science behind sleep. I feel like its a topic which is broad and barely comes up when talking about training. Being a college student some nights I run very low on sleep. Should I be training the next day? How much sleep is enough to go next day and train? Etc. it would be great if you can do a video on sleep and recovery. I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks for being real. Best, Abid

Can you do a video on sugar? As we find out more about how sugar has unnecessarily invaded all food content I find almost unanimous support in cutting out as much sugar as possible (for added sugars. I realize that the facts I find tend to float in the echo chamber of confirmation bias (my wife and I are none as the sugar nazis in our family get togethers) but diets like ketogenics and Maximized Living tend to confirm this. Please Halp
