How to PROPERLY Use Supersets to Maximize Growth (3 Science-Based Tips)

Supersets are often incorporated in workouts to both save time and potentially enhance muscle growth. Now although theres endless superset workouts you can do (superset workouts for chest, arms, legs, etc) and several potential benefits of supersets in terms of saving time and enhancing growth, its key that you first learn how to do supersets for the best results. But first, lets explain what supersets are in the first place: a superset involves training two muscles back to back with the use of two different exercises. Theyre mainly used to save time, but as youll see, use supersets for muscle growth may actually hold some truth to it as well given that you perform your super sets properly. First thing you need to do is use agonist-antagonist supersets. This can be done with an arms superset workout (by supersetting the biceps and triceps, with a chest and back supersets workout, or with a legs superset with the hamstrings and quadriceps. In any case, youre supersetting two opposing muscle groups which seems to actually enhance performance rather than hinder it. Next, you want to use staggered rest periods with your supersets as opposed to immediately going from one exercise to the other. This enables you to still give your muscles adequate rest while still saving time with your supersets workout routine. Lastly, I would avoid supersets on taxing movements like the squat, deadlift, and Olympic lifts. Utilizing supersets on these movements seems to do more harm than good. But all in all, supersets do seem like a viable method to save time while enhancing performance in the process. JOIN THE WAITING LIST FOR MY PROGRAMS HERE: MY PROGRAMS: FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM/

Please make an Antagonistic Superset plan like you did for Push-Pull-Legs! :D
Hi Jeremy, I started following your Push-Pull-Legs plan (slightly modified) & started seeing fantastic benefits! However, sitting around doing nothing for 2-3 minutes rest between sets was not working for me (I'm ADHD. Browsing my phone to pass the time would also take me out of the workout-mindset-focus & slow my momentum/resolve too much. I'm looking to see if Antagonistic Supersets can help elevate this problem for me.
May I request that you introduce an Antagonistic Superset plan the same way you did for Push-Pull-Legs? I've been cracking my head trying to piece together a weekly plan (limited home-gym, but the pieces never seem to fit properly. Because BOTH push & pull exercises are done on the same day, I couldn't properly spread it out & still fit in 2-3 days of rest before each muscle group has to be worked again. Thanks beforehand if you decide to help with this!
[Might re-post this under other videos to hopefully catch your attention! :P]

Congratulations on your new gym and thank you so much for all of your quality videos. I've watched all of them and l'm implementing a lot of what I learned in my own personal workouts. I'm slowly progressing. I'm 50 years old and 64kgs and suspect have a height similar to yours (around 173cm. I'd love to know where I can get a tank top like the one's you wear in your videos.
Important question: What brand of tank top do you wear? I'm a fellow Canadian in South Korea, but I've scoured all the major sports retailers in North America and can't seem to find a decent fitting tank top like yours.
Where can I get that tank top that you wear in your videos (the blue or gray?

Am new to weight lifting and I have decided to use supersets in my workout. I only have a pair of dumbbells though. The major question I have is that do I rest between each set in the first exercise and then jump to the second exercise on the superset or do I just rest after I have completed all the sets in the second exercise. For example do I do 4 sets of bench press, rest 30 seconds after each set then jump to do 4 sets of chin ups, or do I complete all the sets of bench press without resting, then rest after I have completed my last set of chin ups

One of the problem with super sets is the time of recuperation. A super sets is generally a full upper body so if you train 5 days a week, with intense training, youll have one one day of rest between upper body trainings. However if you du push/pull/leg you got more time to recuperate. A good time of recuperation will increase performances and mass building. Tell me guys if Im wrong but I think this is a disadvantage of supersets training

Brother you cleared all my doubts in a single video. Like i had a doubt whether to do squats and bench press. That you cleared in the last. And also i had some doubts whether to rest between super sets. And all. Thanks for making detailed videos

So is doing bench press and then shoulder lateral raises and then tricep extensions a bad superset?
Or rows and then lat pulldowns?
This is very disappointing news. But great video. I just wish it wasn't true. lol

To what extent should we adopt the resting procedure if we are only training at home using body weight? Coz it feels less intensive just using body weight in contrast to training at the gym. Thx!

Hello guys, i am following the Push - Pull - Leg, should i use super set on that? For example, when i do Bend press on Push day, should i row after that?
I go to gym 6 times/ week.

So if you do isolation excercises you can loop 3 of them to get the rest needed for all of them right? Triceps>biceps>calves for instance?
Even more time saved!

I goin to thu a few arm superset cable /rope days in on my days off, I need to work on them more, so recover from leg day today, will get in thi and do a arm superset
