How to lose belly fat in 1 week Is losing stubborn belly fat 3 times faster even possible For the next 7 days, I'll be following a science-backed fat loss plan designed to lose belly fat fast. I want to see how my body reacts and if this could be an easy way to achieve weight loss and shred down for the summer. Use code BELLYFAT for 10% off Built With Science protein: Click below for a step by step plan training plan that reveals all the best exercises you should do for each and every muscle group: Click below to subscribe for more videos: Before covering how to lose belly fat in 1 week, let’s first get my baseline measurements. My initial DEXA scan came in at 15. 6% body fat. I also used the ultrasound to measure the exact thickness of my upper belly fat, middle belly fat, and the most stubborn area, my lower belly fat. After seven days, we’ll come back and see just how much these measurements have changed. With this diet, I’m eating just 1, 200 calories. It’s extreme, but sticking to it should lead to about 3 lbs of pure fat loss in just a week. Alberto Nunez, the go-to man to get you absolutely shredded in the natural bodybuilding community, terms it the protein-sparing modified diet. He shares that, on this diet, you’re eating nothing much other than protein. And given how extreme this weight loss diet is, Alberto recommends 1. 5 to 1. 75 g of protein per lb of body weight. For me, that translated to a bare minimum of 250 grams of protein on a budget of just 1200 calories per day. As for protein sources It's going to be a lot of the leaner animal proteins. Here’s my daily meal plan to lose belly fat fast. Egg white omelet with celery for breakfast, a post workout Built With Science protein shake, two chicken breasts with light veggies for lunch, more chicken and veg for dinner, and more chicken breasts for desserts. So, when it comes to weight training, research has shown that it only takes about 1/3rd of the volume to MAINTAIN your existing muscle. This means, rather than doing 3 sets per exercise, I could do just 1 hard set and that should be enough to protect my muscles from being burned off without being too much for my body to recover from. Now, even though I’m not getting all the nutrition I need because of my strict calorie limit, I’m trying to use a few key supplements to fill in the gaps, including a multivitamin, Omega 3s, and some clutch recommendations I got from Alberto: caffeine and protein powder. 3 days in, and I felt great. But Alberto cautioned that my body was probably going to start bugging me soon. True enough, I felt a rapid energy drop going into the second half of the week. As for my food cravings, the longer I went into the diet, the crazier those cravings became. So when your body experiences a serious drop in calories, it starts to do whatever it can to tell you to eat. Not only can your smell and tase become heightened, but your leptin levels can decrease dramatically. Meaning, not only was my stomach physically feeling empty but even the signals in my body meant to regulate my hunger were starting to go haywire. Feeling absolutely depleted, I headed back to the lab to get my day 7 results. But before I find out, I already know this isn’t a plan I will be repeating. Trying something so extreme had me feeling exhausted, unmotivated and like I was completely depleted. And when I did get to actually enjoy real food again I actually had to spend the next few days resisting the urge to eat everything in sight. Diets like this are exactly what cause so many people to yoyo diet and even develop eating disorders. To truly lose belly fat and keep it off, you need patience, consistency, and a sustainable diet that you can stick to for several weeks. Regardless of what the results show in the scans, do not try to copy what I did in this video. As for my results, my DEXA scan showed that my body fat dropped from 15. 6% to 14. 7%. It doesn’t sound like much but usually it would take me at least a few weeks of dieting to achieve that. But what’s interesting is the ultrasound. Although my upper and middle belly fat didn’t change much since I didn’t have too much to lose there, my lower belly fat, which is the most stubborn area, dropped by over 30%! In fact, the thickness of my lower belly fat dropped by half a cm! Which explains why I noticed my lower abs starting to pop out a little more. But despite the results, I wanted to get even leaner, so I decided to continue dieting for the next 6 weeks. This time, using a more sustainable approach. My plan is to head back to the lab for 1 more scan to see just how much more belly fat I was able to lose, and then make a video for you guys revealing everything I did to easily lose that fat. So keep an eye out.

This is close to what I’ve been doing for the last 3 months. I’ve been eating 1000 calories a day, eating mostly protein (though not to the same level as you were in this video, cut out all alcohol, walking 25, 000 steps, and doing some light resistance training at home. I’ve felt perfectly fine for the entire 3 months.
So far, I’ve lost 55 pounds, cut my BMI from 32. 4 to 24. 2, 9-10 inches off my waistline, and cut my approximate body fat from 37-40% to about 15-18%. I’ve consistently been losing about 3. 5-4 pounds per week.
I still want to lose another 5-8 pounds so I can get rid of a good bit of my remaining subcutaneous belly fat and get my body fat down to the 12-15% range, which should take me another 2 weeks.
My advice is that you can get the same results without going quite as insane with the protein. You can eat some veggies. And make sure you get plenty of fiber. Fiber protein is very filling. I usually ad fiber to my protein shakes and get additional fiber through veggies.

This doesn’t make any sense! Why would you do such a drastic diet when you’re already at 15% bf! The risk of losing proportionally more muscle mass is much greater for a lean individual than for someone with high amounts of body fat.
I’d definitely try going with the 500kcal deficit that Jeremy recommended in the beginning. I currently do the same. Also I currently only track my breakfast, lunch and snacks (i. e. all the meals I eat alone) and I try to be at 1500kcals with that so that I have about 1000kcals for dinner. This way I can eyeball the dinner or also eat out for dinner and chose a healthy option and not be completely antisocial while dieting. In the end it doesn’t matter if I hit 2500kcals perfectly every day. What matters is that I keep losing weight at the desired rate (500g / 1lb per week, because there is no deadline I have to meet. Much more sustainable!

Hi Jeremy! In last year i was diagnosed with IBS. I had to start with strict diet. so strict that i barely could eat anything in my home and w8 until my gf would eat everything to go shopping and i sticked to rice porridge, whey and some pure potato chips and had to eat a LOT of dietary fiber/ My symptoms went off a cliff on second day, my mood improved, strength increased and i was in heaven.
until like you i was struck by truck. I couldn't think in the work, i felt like a drone or smth, just craving for survival. I literally felt like im burning my belly fat and it was showing. It took about week until i started to think, but somehow i regulated my hunger, eated less, my weight stabilized, but unfortunately i stopped to feel so good: D

The reason why you felt a massive energy drop so soon, is because you are already pretty lean. I did a hardcore diet and lost almost 50lbs in 2022, and didn’t feel energy drop until after I lost 40lbs, I had loads of stored body fat to keep my energy high. Once I got very lean, I could just remember staring into space with no brain. I’d look at my wall and just stay there, focusing on my wall.
For the average person wanting to dry this high protein diet, be careful I really think the kidneys need to get use to such high protein and not to stress them out suddenly, for the people who can handle it. drink loads of water to get water in the colon. too much protein you’d be pooping bricks.

no its not, if youre a normal person and not shredded and lean fitness influencer, a while back i lost around 10kg during 2 week long ilness when I just drank a lot of water with electrolites and ate some fruit, my belly got much smaller but I’d say i lost maybe 1/4-1/3 of the belly fat alongside of overall body weight loss, if i was to lose the stubborn bellyfat while healthy i would need to stick to some very strict diet, excercise and it would take months - if 2 weeks of extreme weight loss had this little effect - so whatever is in the video it must apply to very specific grp of people who have very little of belly fat left and are already extremely fit and lean

Day 4 crash: all glycogen reserves you've had are completely exhausted. I'm surprised it wasn't a day earlier.
Since you're eating nothing but lean protein and non-starchy veggies, you've kickstarted ketosis in a rough way. Unless your body's used to this, energy levels will crash and keto-flu symptoms (indluding reduced brain function / fog) can come up. You can partially remedy this with bone broth and/or supplementing electrolytes. (that pickle juice will take care of a fair bit)
Well done, though!

i went on a calorie-deficit diet of 1200/day for 10 weeks, lost 20 lbs so averaging 2/week BUT 25% of that was lean mass AND i incurred more moderate-severe lasting health issues. I would not recommend anyone try a strict diet like this at all, but if they do it should be with the careful monitoring of a team of healthcare professionals.

Random question but why egg white alone Granted it contains more protein than the yolk due to there being more of it, but the yolk is itself denser in protein per gram. You also get more vitamins and minerals in the yolk, so if going for a calorie restricted diet wouldn't you want to hoover up every piece of nutrition available

I started at 30% bf. I went on a plan of three eggs and chicken breasts a day, and lost 14kg across the 14 weeks I stuck to it. When all that fat came off, my metabolism had tanked. I learned to eat my maintenance calories, and create the deficit through various forms of exercise, and remain consistent. I'm now at about 10% bf.

This reminds me of the modified alternate day fasting I've been doing. Basically around 600 calories 3 days a week and around 1200 4 days a week. 30 min exercise of some kind 5 days a week. Been able to get 20lbs down in a couple months, would've been more, but birthdays and a road trip stagnated my progress a bit.

Just cut out carbs/seed oils/plant foods, lower your insulin. No need for calories counting, or starvation, or bulking and cutting. If you just put the right food in the engine, everything will work itself out and body recomp happens without training. Training just boosts it up. It's all about hormones, not calories.

Just did 1500 calories as an experiment, coming off of like 3000 calories. 2 days in I had to quit. First day is good. End of the second day I crashed after eating my second meal, kept waking up after 2 hours, and finally gave in and ate a pb&j at 2am putting me beyond my diet. Still got a headache

when i workout i do this all the time 1000-1200-1500 cals/day with 100g protein, but cant lose any belly and chest fat anymore and any kg so i gave up on 80kgs. wanted to go down from 88kgs to 75 on 172 cm height and at least 15% body fat but its impossible im stuck on 80kgs and 20 and something body fat.

Accounting for thermic effect of food doesn't that mean he's actually eating only 800 calories per day! Also wouldn't alternate day fasting be a better approach for this since having 2400 in a day would be more satisfying mentally if you know how to keep hunger controlled during your fasting days
reply

Why not just do three days of eating like this for 2/3weeks and have moderate refeeds.
Or like. 2/3 days of 1. 2k calories, then one day at 2k, and another 2/3 days of 1. 2k calories. wouldn't that be more sustainable than consistently sticking to this restricted diet for 7days

I dont know why Jeremy keeps saying lose belly fat in these videos when you cant spot reduce. He's just losing overall body fat which includes belly fat. Really feel like its a disservice to beginners and novices that don't know any better, which is the majority of his viewers

3 weeks to lose 1% of body fat! Whats the point, u wang diet to be fairly aggressive to get rid of the fat but not too aggressive ur constantly thinking about food! But no way 3 weeks to lose 1% of bf imagine someone 30% bf how long they gna take! There gonna give up for sure!

Is this what they call Keto brain Some proponents of a ketogenic diet swear that your brain runs better on ketones than glucose but not seeing evidence of that in this video. Does it take a while for your brain to transition to a new fuel source Anyone in the chat

What about protein powder and BC AAs That should be added to the diet for nutrition purposes. We don’t contain a ton of calories. and I don’t think you need to only use egg whites. You’re already hardly even food as it is. Might as well use whole eggs.

I wonder how this would work if you did it for a maximum of 3 days a week or even mixing these hard days in between your other days on a regular diet. Would you get the same results over an adjusted time period What would the psychological and retention be like
