Im about 2 to 3 stone over weight. For my 10 minute warm up before I go on to the weights I either do hitt training on the treadmill or 10 minutes on the rowing machine. I try to do hitt on both machines on alternate days before I then do my weights. Is this a good thing for weight loss? My diet consists of the MyFitnessPal app and keeping down the calories with usually slimming world dinners and teas as my wife is doing the slimming world. I seem to be losing it surely but slowly. Yet my mrs doesnt go to the gym as much and her weight is flying off?

Cardio isn't the most important thing. Not even close. It's diet. I lost 70 pounds in less than 6 months without touching a weight or running or even walking for cardio. I did a keto type of diet and that was literally it. I train my ass off now and do cardio a few times a week but the cardio is strictly and only for health. Has nothing to do with me trying to get shredded. The added bonus is at 235 pounds, I'm not dying going up stairs and can go for longer than 5 minutes while dickin' the wife now. Lol

Lost 70lb by doing cardio/running. How did I manage to do that? I made a video explaining how to that and there are more to come. The cardio/running is the KING of sports. Whether is the basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, handball, tennis, football or almost any sports. You name it. Even the pro bodybuilders do cardio. GUYS, do cardio on regular bases, it will improve your health, strength, endurance, condition AND OF COURSE YOU'LL LOSE FAT. Hard work pays off, so invest in yourself

THANK YOU On my personal training course we learned that the best way to lose body fat is to lift and cardio is mainly useful for improving heart and lung function. But I see and hear EVERYWHERE that you MUST do cardio to lose fat from people who are very experienced in fitness and sound so adamant it makes me doubt myself and my training. I, myself, am 9st, 5ft5 and maintain at 2k cals (female) just with lifting, no cardio so I should know lol

The more bodybuilding videos I watch on YouTube these days, (and there are plenty, as inspirational as they are (including yours, they are also damn depressing too. In the sense that genetics, Ive learned, come to play such a massive role. You can lift, sprint, do weights, do cardio, do no cardio, do no weights and still look pretty great if you are genetically gifted. Or on the other hand work like a dog and still look okayish

I'm doing cardio 5 to 6 times a week 40 to 80 minutes a session right after my 60 to 80 minutes resistance training, lost 35 kilos in the last 4 months, and I kept my muscle, important to say I started with way less training 4 months ago, but I wanna go back playing rugby after years of sedentary life, so for me it's kinda mandatory, but for sure people can lose fat without it.

I'm glad I watched. I haven't done cardio intentionally in over 2 years. It's boring as hell I'd rather lift. Today I did 20 mins on stairmaster and a little speed rope practice, because I feel out of shape. I was going to do cardio after each lifting session, but I like your idea of introducing slowly. I'm gonna try it out once per week.

I've a steep ass hill up a dirt track near my house. It's 100m ish. I like running up and down it for cardio. Not only is it decent HIIT, the fact that it's easy for my mind to break it up into reps makes it easier for me. Plus, running up hills gives a certain amount of glute hypertrophy.
