I would disagree with frequency being a must. I know what the studies etc say but im my own personal experience have found once the chest gets to a certain size hitting it with a killer workout utilising drop sets and other intensity techniques once per week is a good way to build the chest. Ive found if just starting out then frequency is a must but past that i like to cycle between frequency and volume every few months. In the past i got up to my genetic potential with an emphasis on only working each muscle group once per week in the last 5 years of my training

Hi Matt, long shot that youll reply to this as I know its not your area but Im a footballer trying to bulk to build muscle then cut so its lean, Im 59 and naturally very skinny, Ive been bulking around 2 weeks and have made it to 9st 4lb from around 8st 10lb, this was through mainly a clean bulk but also some mince pies. What weight do you reckon I should get to before I start cutting. Also if anyone else could offer advice thatd be great

Just curious what are your stats? how tall are you? and what body weight? I just started going to the gym for the first time starting with SL 5x5 program with added dips and chin-ups ( started on week 7 instead of 1 though cause I am bigger than most guys naturally ) i'm currently 31 years old, 5'9 tall 210 pounds about 23-25% body fat, starting 1 rep max bench is 190 pounds, been to the gym 2 times so far.

Very interested in this online coaching, always had trouble gaining weight, been working out for like 6 years this years not been good for the 1st time ever i have lost my motivation due to not seeing any gains but my nutrition isnt great, i literary need this, someone to tell me exactly what to eat how many times to eat and things like that huge possibility Ill be doing this

When you you say to do the first couple exercises heavy then focus on contraction with less heavy weights, do you mean that just for chest or for each muscle group you workout that day?
