How to become an olympian: : 11 steps - Skills N' Talents

We often get asked by kids I want to go to the Olympics, what should I do. and although we never managed to qualify for the Olympics, we do have a saying here in Mexico that might be appropriate for this situation. It translates to The pupil surpasses the teacher. So in the hopes that one of you goes to the Olympics as an athlete, a coach or a parent, I compiled all my knowledge into a pyramid of what I think are basic swimming needs to help you surpass us and go to the Olympics or to help you help someone make it to the Olympics. And now that I think about it, these could work for any sport. But before we go to the pyramid, just know that you can work hard to improve all of them, except #6. 1- Love for the sport. 2- Having enough money. 3- Good technique. 4- A good coach. 5- Endurance and pain tolerance. 6- Good genes. 7- Family members, friends, and teammates. 8- Injury prevention and/or treatment. 9- Rest, proper nutrition, sleep. 10- Strength and mobility. 11- Mental training. Now, before you write angry comments on this video, I just want to make something clear. You dont need to have 100 percent of one step to climb to the next. Some of the higher steps in the pyramid will actually help the lower ones. For example, having good teammates will definitely increase your love for the sport, or good mobility and strength will also help your technique. Maybe its my fault, maybe instead of a pyramid, it should look more like this! Its always a good idea to focus on what you are lacking the most and improve those weaknesses using your strengths. For example, you can use your mental training to strengthen your pain tolerance and endurance. If you do make it to the Olympics one day, make sure to come back to this video and add to the pyramid of needs in the comment section. If you are new to skills and talents welcome! We mainly focus on swimming and occasionally we do fun videos like this. : Our favorite Amazon products: Instragram: Facebook

I am 15, and I want to be an olympian diver, Tom Daley is my source of inspiration and I wish so bad to be like him, I LOVE diving but its still quite unclear how I'm supposed to start my journey, I've been thinking about what I want o be when I grow up, I am a huge fan of science but school is just typically not my thing, I love the sport, I make my own money, I'm not strong neither weak and I am fully willing on improving, I don't get much support about doing sports because I don't normally share my true interests to others, even my parents, friends, anybody, I'm just scared they might go against it so I kept it for myself, but one day I will compete standing on a diving platform and win a match to prove not only to my family and relatives but for those who have no beliefs in themselves as well that you can be anything you dream of, our county also still has not a singe olympic medal in this sport so, I may or may not one day, in the slightest possibility that I maybe, maybe win one someday.

I'm getting stronger, faster and can run longer every week. I'm starting at low weight, high reps, multiple sets and increasing at a slow rate. And for running, I'm training for 30 minutes at an average pace and increasing my speed at 0. 1 MPH every other day to get faster and I do several medium distance sprints with a medium rest times. . I have a very unique training style to always get better and never get injured from it

When I was 13, my biggest dream was to be an Olympian swimmer. I stopped swimming because of a guy. It was a mistake. Now Ill restart and realize my younger self dream, I dont care how hard itll be. I will surpass myself and work hard, making my self proud. Ill not let myself down again.

For certain sports it can be really expensive and it may take traveling. I wish I had more supportive parents with my dreams and means of travel. Gymnastics and figure skating are very expensive and as I got better, my coaches wanted me to have a private lessons but we couldnt afford it.

Good genes and money, I don't have them both. Good genes, no way I could get it. (For sports not in general lol) money, I can make it, search for a sponsor, or take help from my family. So I can. Make it into Olympics. I believe I will. Brisbane 2028 i will try my best.
