Farmers walk - how-to exercise tutorial - Buff Dudes Neanderthal: I weight 178 lbs, just started strength training again, can carry 115 lb dumbbells around 200 ft in the gym, 100 ft each way, but on my 2nd attempt I cannot keep my grip that long. I can only go around 120 ft for try 2 and 3 due to slipping out of grip. I want to get to our 135 lb dumbbells. Going to rewatch this since I heard you mention increasing grip strength ways just now.

Hey guys! Can someone tell me the proper breathing technique for the farmers walk? Is it breath in/inhale through the nose and /breath out/inhale through the mouth as you walk with the dumbbells?
Correct form is definitely paramount, but so is proper breathing to better stabilize your core while preforming the exercise.

I wouldn't tell people to not use straps if they actually want to overload their backs with this excercise. I do these to build my back so I use straps. Of course if your working your grip then don't use straps.

My upper quads feel like they are coming off the bone when I walk with 130. 6 months ago I was doing 300. is there any way to compensate for this and get back to normal. I'm 8 weeks out from my competition?

I have noticed a significant increase in size and strength since i started doing farmers walks. But you have to lift heavier every week or it-s basically pointless.

I don't know any farmers which walk about carrying dumbbells. Most don't walk at all. They sit in luxury tractors with comfy seats, heating and sound systems.
