I am so glad you did a video on this. Do more with different females experiencing this, please?
The industry is obsessed with the youth which makes us who survived so much to go through more hell are ignored feeling even more lost with no support it is a terrible cycle especially being female.
Swear if men bleed be no wars. They would be crying I'm the corner needing safe words if they had periods to go through, child birth, dismissive society ugliness and menopause.
Anyhow, I'm not in menopause YET I know I've suffered for years and years from PMDD to everything you described without menopause and it sucks. Can't take birth control and worse doctors refused to preform a hysterectomy. Just left in pain every month hurting badly even with a great diet.
Honestly, I'd love to see a good series by you with awesome fun suggestions for workouts for those who don't want to spend forever working out to even fun workout outfits shirts but, made ethically I hate working out in anything that isn't mostly cotton. I feel nasty. but, I love it to be fun and a blend. stretchy yet, wow it's hard to find something awesome that is out there. I've started to really like your videos on this journey.
Thank you. When most consumers like someone they'll buy from them. I think you have quality content. I'm an overweight stress eater. Don't think I've ever had healthy eating habits at all only disorders even encouraged by doctors to society. I'd rather be as healthy as possible at in age than some society standards. Just our best selves. It makes me sad to see so many not understand they are uniquely them. Work of art and I don't want to be like anyone else or look like anyone else but, the best version of myself. I see these unhealthy bodies obtained through plastic surgery I hate those trends. If I hit the money I'd probably do certain procedures yet, I know from having many surgeries for other reasons my body heals badly.
To me a body achieved through working out is amazing. While I'm not against plastic surgery to make you feel better I think these trends hurt kids with unrealistic standards trend. Increasing eating disorders. I'd like to change that.
As a kid in the 90s the 80s wasn't about healthy it was appearance we have not gotten out of those decades of unhealthy ideology. Not yet. I'd love to know a the clothing I wear down to the bra and equipment used is made by non slave labor, quality and ethical that alone is EcoChic. Yet, we don't see that broken down as making a person attractive the fact they give af about human rights by what they consume items produced to what they wear. That isn't highlighted I'd love to see that change to improve the marketplace I also care that people have access to decent food even a home we have 600, 000 homeless that's unacceptable in the US.
To me I'd rather be a great version of myself without stripping the rights of others to survive or profit. That's attractive no matter your weight to me. That's a society I'd like to see grow not the current marketplace. Not just 1 version of capitalism.

I like your information, I was hoping to see more using alternatives protein sources. Tofu is not my thing for a variety of reasons. I have been in menopause for 10 years now. I was advised to go on a keto diet for about 18 months because I had I developed pre-diabetes in2017 likely as a result of family genetics. Yes I lost weight, inches when combined with exercise, cardio, strength and pilates. But I felt awful, brain fog, chronic constipation, poor sleep, etc. I retired from a stressful job 3years ago and worked part time elsewhere. My diet was not keto but it was low to moderate carb, felt better, still exercised felt better but not great. So I retired permanently 6 months ago and did some nutritional reading surrounding with diabetes in mind. I-m still in a pre-diabetic state, good news overall. What works best now is protein from chicken, fish, various beans ( which I prepare from dry) lentils, quinoa. I use whole grains, barley, pats, farro, brown rice, in small quantities. And I eats lots and lots of greens.
My typical dinner, is a large bowl of fresh greens, with one of tuna, salmon, cod, egg, chicken, beans and add a quarter cup of cooked whole grain and add tomato, cucumber, onion, EVOO and apple cider vinegar, etc. I add whole flax seeds, pumpkin seeds. I also eat nuts, fruit, dark chocolate. Physically, mentally and sleep, I have never felt better.
I make everything myself, I have lost half of my belly fat, 5 inches off my waist. More needs to go. It-s painfully slow at this point. What else is there and stave off the progression of my metabolic disease?

The video is a little misleading. You are describing peri menopause. The weight gain starts in peri menopause not menopause. During peri menopause a woman-s cycle intermittently comes on and off and may come along with the other symptoms such as hot flashes-but until the period completely stops that is when a woman is in menopause. I-m pretty sure you are well aware that every woman has a different make up and peri menopause may have different effects for each woman but you-re what you are discussing may be too general for a small group of individuals and not a general consensus of most women. From my observation of your body, if you are actually going through peri menopause, clearly your body composition or you genetic make up may make going through peri menopause and controlling your weight much easier than others. I am still in peri menopause and I-ve tried every healthy solution/eating lifestyle and workout habits known to man and nothing helped until I started the keto lifestyle and after 5 years I found something that works for me.

Thank you so much for this video, Cori! I've been following you for some time and love doing your videos. Last year in 2021 I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, not what I expected to be focused on the year I turned 40. The medications have put my body into peri-menopause and I was having trouble losing weight by cutting calories the last month. Luckily I found this video before I did too much more damage! I can't believe how strange my body is behaving! The insomnia is killer ad why do I suddenly have fat on my belly? Luckily I enjoy weight lifting, have been doing some form of weights since I was 16, so I'll add a bit more of that and keep doing my HIIT. I would love to train with you someday!

I am hypoglycemic had no real issues managing it and exerciseing until recently, now at 54 having a hard time doing cardio. My sugar keeps crashing. I am mostly plant based but I eat seafood and fowl. No dairy, .
I eat 30 -40 minutes before workouts, I switched from elliptical to walking and bouncing on a ball. But I am still crashing and eating back calories right after the cardio from sugar crashes. It's a problem. Any advice

Soy is very bad, unless it is fermented, but even then, soy is full of junk and pesticides etc, I don't go anywhere near soy. I consume a lot of protein every day (within limits, but definitely not soy. Soy, it turned out, contains estrogen-like compounds called isoflavones. And some findings suggested that these compounds could promote the growth of some cancer cells, impair female fertility and mess with thyroid function.

1. Don-t overdo the deficit - when you eat less you train your body to need less. Fuel properly.
2. Focus on protein. Consume more protein. Add soy.
3. Don-t fear fats. Fats don-t make you fat. Lower your carbs. Consume more fish or shell fish. (I didn-t quite understand this one)
4. Include strengthen training in your routine.
