Lean bulking - tips for staying lean while putting on muscle mass - Fraser Wilson Sergeant: There is one major problem with dirty bulking you did not mention and in my opinion it is the number one reason never to do it, let alone do it often. Overeating causes fat cells to store more fat. As a result, they grow larger and tell your body to produce more new cells. As your fat cells expand, they become swollen or inflamed. Larger fat cells are much worse at releasing fat back into your body to burn off as energy. This makes it more difficult to lose weight. When you lose weight, you draw from these fat cells; but they will never be as few, or small or as efficient at releasing fat like before. Each dirty bulk you go through will make it more difficult to lose the fat not to mention you just permanently add new fat cells to your body. Anyone who is serious about fitness should never consider dirty bulking.

don't know if you're still answering questions but I'm a kind of newbie gainer. I've been on and off of the gym for years but started taking it properly since mid-December. my diet is pretty clean and in December I weighed 142 lbs (not good for a 6ft tall guy. Now I weigh 163lbs but most of that has come in the last 2 weeks. 2 weeks ago I was 155lbs, then I started actually counting calories and taking my diet seriously. a few days ago I was at 167. my original goal was to get to 160 and then cut. now my goal is 170 but I fear I'm gaining a bit too quick. any advice?
I have adjusted my diet but now I'm losing weight (going from 167 to 163 in a week) should I up the calories again?

hey fraser, my TDEE is 1700 calories a day so right now i'm eating 1950 calories on rest days and 2200 on workout days (4x a week. on rest days i decrease carbs by around 50 grams. however, the thing is i'm a newbie (only been going to the gym since august) so like you said in the vid, i should be aiming for 3500 extra calories (1 pound) a week but the 1950/2200 combination only puts me at around 2000 extra calories per week. so should i be eating more than 2200 on workout days? how do you think i should adjust it?

hey man great vid but i prefer to dirty bulk. I have lean bulked for 5 months before and found i never made as much progress as if i would have dirty bulk like i am now. When i cut from my last dirty bulk i got bigger on the scale and looking at the mirror. I aslo find i can workout longer on a dirty bulk which i love. But hey all our bodys are different just love what your doing and you will be fine. Great vid agine man! #

I-m 5-11- and 135 pounds trying to build as much muscle as possible but also stay lean. I workout almost every day but it-s at home since I don-t have access to a gym. How many calories a day would you recommend I have to build muscle but stay lean as possible?

BRO! I bulked from 160lbs to 190lbs. SUPER DIRTY! Gained a lot of fat. fat as hell! The grind of cutting to 170lbs is a lesson for next year. Definitely lean bulking next year. Great Content!

Great advice on lean bulking. My favorite cheat meal chocolate peanut butter pancakes. Really I could eat that everyday. LOL!
