When I was a kid, I attended a summer camp type program up in the Sierra foothills. On the bus trip there, we stopped and got to tour the Hershey's factory in Oakdale, California (back when it was still operating and all Hershey's candy was made in the US. It was an actual tour of the actual factory, and was both fun and educational. This ride makes a mockery of the real thing; it's rather sad. But at the end of the tour the gift shop sold candy at production cost, including the specialty items like the 5 Lb candy bars. I got a 24 pack of full size (2 diameter, 2 per package) Reese's Pieces for about 2; it was a steal and I had desert after camp meals for most of the stay there.

Before it changed into something like the Hershy's Tour, the Original Cadbury World Factory Tour here in the UK did actually include a real part of the production facility. with a lot (I would say too much) free chocolate everytime you got to the various stages in production. By the time you got to the end, and into the Shop, you certainly didn't feel like buying any more Sadly this has all changed, and not a real process to be seen now, just like the Hershey's one. and no doubt less free chocolate too

this looks like Spaceship Earth with more light and music BLARING at you. The ride system looks the same down to the screen in the front. The only difference is that the large ride vehicles shape here looks more like Journey Into imagination. But mostly Spaceship Earth. Mind you a very watered down Spaceship Earth.

My favorite ride of all time isn't an operation anymore but it was at Epcot, and it was Horizons. I absolutely love that ride and I also love World of motion but now they turned it into test track. But those rides were like so ahead of their time I feel. I hate that they are no longer around.

Hershey has redone this 'chocolate plant tour' so many times in so many different variations, it's not even worth seeing any more It still follows the same track, still shows the same basic way of how the candy bars are made. and most of the actual product comes out of. ready? Mexico

i do not care for this ride. it's not really a tour of much of anything, is it? a real tour would require a trip to mexico. anyone else grossed out that there's a big chocolate bar standing over a vat of mushed up chocolate? it's like a corpse giving a tour of the morgue.

Went on the ride a week before the animatronics were reinstalled They didn't have the projected characters, so it's only half familiar to me because there were remnants of the old ride inside still, in my opinion the old version was much better, and the song was catchy too

This is a super fun ride. I visit PA every once in a while and I always go on this ride. Its been updated a bit since I first went on, but still a super fun dark ride. They even give you (or at least used to) free mini chocolate at the exit.

I bet that ride was intended to go a lot slower than it is you can't even enjoy 1 event and you're already started into the next one I need to slow that ride down or take out the cars and let you walk to it that way you can enjoy each one

As a Hershey local let me tell you that they have ruined the ride. Nothing will be more iconic than the original singing cows and the line that took you through the path of a cocoa bean before it went to a factory. Those were the days, man
