Join us for a scary walkthrough of the brand new The Zoo Haunted Maze at Knott’s Berry Farm. Something has taken over the abandoned zoo. And you get to experience it two different ways: One with the lights on and another called Lights Out, where you will walk through the Zoo in total darkness with just a dimly lit flashlight. This video also features the Cinema Slasher Haunted Maze before the intense ZOO lights Out walkthrough. 0: 00 - Intro 0: 08 - The Zoo 7: 48 - Cinema Slasher 15: 23 - The Zoo Lights Out Edition using Flashlights Filmed on September 18, 2025 at Knott's Scary Farm Media Event

The theming on the zoo was incredible. definitely outdid Universal on that one. I just wish there were more sound effects/light cues for the scare actors. I was waiting for a big jump scare, but it felt sort of stale aside from one or two. Lots of missed opportunities imo. I get Knott's tries to keep the old school feel by not making every scare a strobe and loud sound gimmick like Universal, but when used tastefully, I feel like it's an incredibly effective tactic to level up from seeming like a run-of-the-mill haunted house. great theming and costumes should only be a baseline at an event this scale. Excited to see what the future holds, as they seem to really be stepping up their game in the past 6 years or so.

It's like the actors in the Zoo weren't given any direction at all, other than be scary, and were left to their own devices, and coming from the haunt business myself, you NEED to give a lot of direction to scare actors who don't have any sound/ light cues to do the heavy lifting for them. If you don't, they'll just wander around left to their own devices, and not everyone is able to do that. I've seen this at so many haunts where it doesn't matter what the setting is, the actors always are acting the same throughout all of them. I think more haunts need to implement the light/ sound cues for the actors.

Huh you know I like the whole setting and vibe taking inspiration from H. G. Wells House of Pain but the actors aren’t really delivering the overall atmosphere and tone right either with their performances, could use a little more work on the movement and gestures to make them seem like animal/human hybrids having their minds broken

The zoo is super cool, but im ngl i feel like it lost the plot a little. The actors weren't like, giving it their all, sure, but at some point it became less human/animal super solider escape and more this is a resident evil knockoff. Kinda disappointing, it looked so good in the trailer!

Camp gonna get ya was really good. It's not easy being a scare actor with alot of people coming in. I was nervous and fumbled sometimes. You gotta be quick, loud, and play the part. The girl was smiling a bit when she was asking for help, but I really liked how it played out.

I wonder if disasterpeace knows that his original music for the IT follows soundtrack is being used to pad out this awful haunted house. Rights issues abound with this one. The track is called 'Title' and it's from the 2015 album.

I am confused as to whether The Zoo is too weird of a concept to ever be effective or if it's just so poorly designed that it's not scary. Cool animatronics, but good luck seeing anything important.

I loved Cinema Slasher! Maybe not the best execution, but the sets were thought out and I got what they were going for. And i was genuinely imersed just wayching thru the phone!

the sets and buildings look great, but the scare actors aren't scaring, you can kinda miss some parts in the scare and it really doesn't giv e the '' i will kill you'' vibe.

Ik it’s not ideal for the actors but the lights out edition for the zoo was a major improvement all in all, real step up from what was happening with the lights on

It looks like 90% of the budget went into the decors, and they had to split the remaining 10 between actor training, costumes and sound design
