I actually prefer this version to Disneyland because at Disneyland you spend ages going through the caves and you don't have to go past a restraunt in this version. The blue bayou at Disneyland makes no sense to me because on one side you have a dark bayou with small houseboats and gators but on the other you have the lavish lit up blue bayou. The queue in this version is better and it has a far more extravagant jack sparrow treasure room scene and you don't have to go up the clunky old lift hill like you do at Disneyland which always feels like the chain is on its last legs. I do wish this version had the bayou minus the restraunt and the drunk Pirates firing shots at each other.

the disneyland version of this ride is quite different: the beginning is you floating through what appears to be a swamp because there are houses in the middle of the water and then you there is a dip (or drop) and then you go through the beginning of this ride and after passing through the smoke screen of davy jones you are in the middle of a pirate battle and everything looks the same until the end when there is a different scene before you go up the lift and pass the last captain jack sparrow (also he appears more than once in the disneyland version) and then you go around a parrot before you get out of the boat

In answer to the original question I wish Disney had scuttled the Disneyland POC copy and let WDW have the way cooler ride by replacing it with the amazing, modern technological marvel that is Battle for Sunken Treasure. Disneyland does have more of that genuine old fashioned Walt feel but he wanted a more modern, updated atmosphere for WDW. It's easier to visit LA if I want the old version than to make a trip to Shanghai. Added bonus no controversy over the Redhead change.

I've been to Disney world 6 times and the 6th time I went was back in March. It was the last ride of the night with my mom so we went on. And everything was alright till we got to that part were there chasing each other in a circle and we got stuck. We were their about 30 minutes and we saw them chasing them over and over and we heard the cannon boom every minute. It was really funny

See, everyone talks about this one being worse. Honestly, I don't get it. We have a more detailed, and in my opinion, better queue area, and get straight to the Pirates. Yeah, we cut out the bayou, 95% of the cave, and the ending powder room scene, but all in all, it's the same ride. Same areas, same pirates, same design, we just get straight to business.

I love that disney attraction from the magic kingdom: -) I love it ever since that day that me and my family went on that disney ride for the first time and me and my family still ride that disney attraction at the magic kingdom in the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando Florida: -): -) WOOHOO: -O: -o: -) AWESOME: -): -): -)

I don't get why people argue over this, I didn't really analyze the ride but it seems this just doesn't randomly start in a New Orleans bayou has a more focused que (DL) or lack the drops at the start of the ride and like what 40 seconds shorter? (DW) What a dumb thing to argue about unless im missing something lol.

hmmm. the lighting in this one is a lot better, but California's version is longer. although to be fair, a lot of that extra length is more dead areas whereas this cuts more to the action with less time spent in areas without much going on. also I might be wrong but it seems like Jack appears more in this one.

I really like this ride, but you can only do it so many times on the same holiday. After the drop, it's all fairly repetitive, and after the first or second time is a bit boring. I think that they'll replace it as some point in the future with one similar to the Shanghai version.

Call me crazy, but I don't think this version is very good, it's only half of what Disneyland's is, there's no interesting beginning scene with the cabin, there's no cool going up the hill, it's just worse, still a good attraction but not great like Disneyland's
