This Is Why I really like Disney Parks over Universal Parks because they keep classics and refresh them and make new rides in addition to classic rides. I could spend over 12 hrs an not get bored at Disneyland or other Disney Parks. However when I was in Universal only 3 times each visit in the first 4 hours I got bored it's no Imagination and no original ideas just movies, movies and more movies. At Disneyland It has It's a Small World, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain and Many others based on originality. Disneyland Still has some rides based on movies however the not whole park. And when Disneyland does make a ride based on a movie it gives them a fresh new story not a repeat. If I had 7 days to spend at which parks Disney or Universal I would choose Disney in a flash it's so awesome.

Since most of the rides closed before I was alive, this was the only classic opening day universal studios attraction( although I was told I rode twister as a baby, but it doesn't count since it opened in the late 90's. If they ever take this away, it would be like taking candy away from a baby. Lots of people like me would get upset, as this is was better than almost every simulator at universal. Even though they are probably gonna stop making simulators for a while, universal still gets the award of most simulator attractions in a amusement park. Even kids like me don't want this amazing attraction to go away, and hope that dark rides like these should be used WAY more often.

it's funny looking back how the only original attractions left in the Hollywood park is the studio tour, Jurassic Park and waterworld. I mean I get that you have to change up the park to attract more guests but I wish they put more effort into making unique rides that put you in a physical enviroment and not a digital one. if anything the practical side of movies are always more appreciated than the digital side and knowing Universal, they could've made the rides more unique. Also what's with Nintendo Land. not universal related at all. again I get it's to attract the younger and 90s audience but still.

As a true fan of Universal. to me its not about what's new and realistic its about what rides make you smile and take you back to when you first came to universal (i was 7, now 21) rides like Jaws/Twister made me feel really happy because it tool me back to that feeling i had as a kid, now if i go on transformers/the new jimmy fallon ride i really dont feel anything becaise theyre just simulators. i really hope they keep ET, i can honestly say whenever i go on this ride it never fails to make me smile regardless of how outdated it is: )

I wanted to go on this ride so bad when I saw the commercials back in 1991, but my family was too poor to go on vacation anywhere. I finally fulfilled this dream a few days ago at Universal Studios Orlando where the ride is still in operation. The ride is nothing like the commercial. It's more like the Peter Pan ride at Disney Land. Clunky suspended track, poor animatronics and small models of a city on the floor to give the illusion you are flying. It's very imaginative and creatively put together and I still loved it at 36 years old.

This ride isn't consistent with either the movie or the novel sequel E. T.: Book of the Green Planet. If E. T. somehow had the ability to travel billions of light years in seconds, why would he need to bother with building a communications device? Couldn't He just hop back home when he realized his ship left? Why would they even NEED a ship if they can jump across vast interstellar distances like shown here? In the novel sequel ALL members of his race have the healing ability

Big mistake closing this in Hollywood. This ride was strike one of me not going to the park anymore. The last straw was Back To The Future: The Ride. Once that went away I stopped going. These were the rides that defined what Universal Studios was. I'm literally trying to hold back my tears as I was a little kid enjoying this ride with my grandma. Priceless memories. I miss this. Words just can't comprehend the pain of those memories long gone.

This ride still has it's charm although it really needs some serious refurbishment but with Universal being so spoiled enough by using simulators, this is what they are lacking for. Creativity with the ride. Its one of a few rides that I kinda liked in any Universal theme parks. Lastly, as a Disney fan, this ride reminds me of Peter Pan's Flight.

I hope they never get rid of this. this was my childhood and I finally got to share it with my little sister when we went to Orlando. she's almost a decade younger than me so it wasn't around in Hollywood. but I finally got to take her on this and she absolutely loved it. please don't ever get rid of this. I want to take my kids on it someday

We always go on ET whenever going to Universal (we have season tickets) and its just sad seeing the condition that Universal has left it in. It deserves a real touch up, a lot of ET's homeworld is really messed up now. Especially when you enter it, your ear gets freaking raped by how loud the air blowers are.
