Dinosaur Ride-through in Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Ride is very similar to Indiana Jones Ride at Disneyland. Is it me? or is the Dinosaur ride track almost identical to Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland? Disney's Animal Kingdom is a must visit when one visits Walt Disney World. Why? There are a brand new land called Pandora that's based of Avatar with 2 new attractions that just opened this past May 2017. Take off on a scary, prehistoric tour aboard a rip-roaring Time Rover to save a dinosaur from extinction. - Walt Disney World website

A child going on this would have nightmares for years thinking it was real. I grew up in southern California. When I was about five or six I went with my sister on the Alice and Wonderland ride. It had the half dome type carriers that are used in the Haunted House. You went into a completely dark area when the ride would all of a sudden turn around and huge doors would fly open and there would be a huge crazy looking white rabbit And the whole thing was like that. The Mad Hatter jumping out at you and loud noises and worst of all the Queen. The crazy Queen with her flamingo golf bird screaming at Alice It was terrifying and I was crying when I got out. I had nightmares for years I couldn't sleep without a light on and to this day I won't watch any kind of horror film. To me that WAS a horror ride. Just like this one would be to a small child. You can explain it all you want but parents, trust me, they will will think it's real. :( Songs

I rode this, and I thought: Eh, this is just gonna be one of those little kids rides that isn't going to be so much fun. I only went because I like dinosaurs XD and it was actually really fun I went with my little brother and he had his eyes closed the whole time XDD there were some weird things like they were looking for an Iguanadon and they stop at a Carnotaurus and identify it. they should know right away that an Iguanadon looks nothing like that. Also, there was a part where the guy shouted something about a Pteranadon incoming, but it wasn't a Pteranadon, it had teeth not a long beak, looked more like a Dimorphodon. Everything else was fun, though, I liked it, it's just not suggested for little kids who get scared easily: P

My first ride on this was when I was 12 and this scared the daylights out of me. I didn't ride it again until 2013 and enjoyed it. Now it is a must do when I am at Animal Kingdom as I was just there today as of this comment. The adrenaline is really rocking while exiting. However I wish parents would obey the warning signs saying that this may be too intense to children. However in their defense, it is nearly impossible to predict if a child will get scared no matter the courage while in the queue, preshow or during the ride.

This ride always looked cool to me, but I have a few issues with the story's narrative. Like, why doesn't the paleontologist know a carnivore from a herbivore when he sees one? Shouldn't the sharp teeth be a giveaway, at the very least? And maybe it's because I've never seen the pre-ride show, but if you're in a time machine, why do you need to go to back in time to the very day of a huge, devastating meteor shower, and not anytime before then? Granted, that's where all the action comes from, but still.

The first and only time I went on this, the ride stopped for a solid minute and a half in total darkness. Everyone was dead quiet and because it was so dark, you couldn't see the person next to you. We all started whispering Is this part of the ride or are we stuck out here? As if we were actually in real danger Next thing we know the ride starts up juuuusst as the carnotaur jumped up and roared a foot away from the car. Everyone in our car was terrified and laughing when we finally got off.

I don't do so well with loud noises. Of course one of the ways they enhance the fear is by turning up the speakers on the vehicle so even the dialog comes out at ear-bleeding levels. I've gotten to where I can handle most of it, but to this day, there hasn't been a picture taken of me on this ride where my fingers aren't in my ears (If I'm even looking at anything other than the floor. I don't understand how anyone without protection has unpunctured eardrums after the Carnotaurus roar.

Great updates but there are still 3 problems I have with the ride. 1. The metal silver door has been removed and no longer opens. Seeing the past already ahead of you ruins the effect. 2. The pterodactyl still doesnt swoop down and that is a shame. 3. The Last carnator used to stand upright and come down at you, now it seems to have bad back pain and is permanently hunching over. Hope they fix the last few remaining problems and make this ride perfect.

This has the potential to be a one of the best rides if they embraced large spine tingling drops. All the drops are baby drops. This is like a better looking version of Jurassic Park ride in Islands Id Adventure but without the fun of Jurassic parks infamous drop at the end. I wish Disney would really make this ride similar in that way to Jurassic Park but while maintaining the same aesthetic.

Loved this ride as a kid. However, after riding the updated version, this ride. I'm sorry but this ride has got to go. Maybe it's because I find it amazing when I was a kid, but now that I'm older it didn't hold that candle. Heck, the last time I went was early in 2018 and the wait time was 10 minutes I expected a 20 - 30 minute wait after the update. Ah well.

i went on this a couple of days ago and i wasn't expecting this ride to be horrifying. i was expecting the dinosaurs to at least be a little far away but they were really close my eyes were closed a lot and at the end i was screaming at the top of my lungs. in the picture i got my eyes were close and i was facing the other direction
