You are wrong about Kazakhstan, nowadays we say it's about economy blablabla in public because of the racial harmony. But every Kazakh know the real reason in their mind, At the early days of our independence Russians in the north were trying to separate the northern part of Kazakhstan and join Russia, at that time ethnic Russians held 90% of North parts' population, and our people were really poor back then, most of the people didn't very care about it, but the president insist on that we should move the capital to the North, he said its about national security, of course most of the people against it because of the money problem then. After what happened to Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, about every Kazakhstani think this is a right decision that must do. Today a lot of people in south seek their dream to the north, thanks to that Kazakhs account for 80% of Astana population, and more than 50% of Northern part population. And I want to say that Im not a nationalist or racist, I have many ethnic Russian friends, but it is a fact that Russian government are still trying to incite the separation of ethnic Russians in the former Soviet Union countries, if they were native to the land, I would definitely support them to fight for their rights, but they are not, they are former colonizers and we are native people. So I support the capital replacement action to increase the proportion of native ethnic groups to curb separatism.

In most cases I absolutely see nothing wrong with moving capital cities to other locations and here's why. Just like the separation of powers a separation of the state from the commercial business world may be a good thing although I'm really not certain of the details. Also all these new capitals in vast cases always appear to have amazing infrastructure and are cheaper to live for the average working family. They are ultra modern and have vast green spaces, parks, water ways, lakes, etc. The quality of life seems far better than the previous city. Schools, health care, seem to offer far more value in these new cities. Don't forget the billions of dollars being injected into the local and national economy via the vast army of well paid construction workers. No, im for building great new cities but sustainable, respecting of civil liberties, privacy, eco friendly, community, with the right truly pioneering urban planning that has all kinds of multiple options for all kinds organic growth whether it's fast or slow. These new cities should bike friendly. They should aim for sustainability and eco friendiness. The latest solar, aquatic turbines, recycling technology you name it should be within the plan of these new capitals. I'm all for it. Let's have a freaking global building boom now baby. Let these new cities be connected with others by hyper loop or even some even more advanced ground transportation technology

Moving capitals can be done on subnational scales, too. British Columbia changed its capital from New Westminster to Victoria when it merged with Vancouver Island, which had previously been an older and separate colony. Victoria was a reasonable choice since it was already the capital of Vancouver Island and it was south of the 49th parallel, meaning that the United States could've claimed it if it wasn't the capital. Nowadays, however, a lot of people beyond the province's southwestmyself includedfeel disconnected from Victoria since it's so distant and the challenges we face are much different, so there's been some consideration of relocating some government ministries from Victoria to Prince George, the largest city in the northern part of the province, to effectively split the role of the provincial capital between the two cities.

Huh Month ago I was in Nursultan (Astana) city. oh. it is true that this city was not designed for taking a walk, also architecture seems to be inspired with the 80s of the previous century - tall, huge buildings with a specific design. One thing I found perfect is viewing acis perfectly planned and constructed. But I still believe that one day somewhere will be build a whole new city from a scratch it may be great and beautiful city if it will prioritize pedestrians, bikes, trams and so on instead of cars like it was made in almost all cities You mentioned as bad experience (since urban development was inspired by cars as progress indication those days)

File this one under Power & Ego: In ancient Egypt, the capital was constantly moving (usually between Memphis and Thebes, but then one ruler came along ------------Akhenaten is sometimes known as King Tut's (Tutankhamun) dad; he is also most commonly known as The Moon Pharaoh. He decided that Egypt should worship the Moon goddess more primarily instead of the Sun God. He also packed up the entire capital (from Thebes) and moved everything to a city that he created ( Akhetaten, named after him, of course. Shortly after his death, King Tut moved everything back to Thebes. Everyone tried to forget that even happened.

If some areas of a country is too packed with people or industry, you best avoid further growing by founding or developing an other city somewhere else, with good infrastructure and job offers. The only one who can do this, is the governement, and what jobs do they have to give? governemental jobs. That's why they move their administration. The naturally of founding a city is either around mines, or at places to trade. Both does not happen today anymore. Starting a new city, will always have the appearance of beeing artificial.

I have a dream that some day they will move the capital from Moscow to somewhere else in Russia, ideally into a new city. There is no reason to stop the traffic in an already jammed city every time someone important drives by. There is no reason for people to cringe under the stares of the security guys every time they walk by a Ministry of Something with someone very important inside. There is no reason to keep half of the Kremlin restricted. There must be a reservation for politicians to keep them away from normal people.

We need a new capital city for Mexico. Mexico City's PROs: -In the center of Mexico-Pyramids are close (tourists atractions)-Weather is not hot or cold, which is nice. Mexico City's CONs: -Active Volcano pretty near, volcanic ashes fall almost everyday in the city. -City is actually sinking (built 500 years ago by landfilling a lake)-Earthquakes are common and pretty intense. We should build a new Capital City.

1: 58 Colonies of England? Are you for real now you made me laugh. England before 1707 colonised only the US with the English settlements, but when the United Kingdom was formed Canada, Australia and other were so too. England is not an actual country, it has not been a country for 312 years. it is a part of the United Kingdom. Don't be so misleading and factually incorrect on a YouTube video.
