This isnt the traditional floral park traverse; the usual traverse goes from Logan Pass to Lake McDonald. However, this loop looks like it might be even better. Might give it a go this weekend! Im living in the Glacier area this summer and have done a lot of backcountry runs here, and for your next trip I would recommend going from Logan to Siyeh Bend to Piegan Pass to Many Glacier and then looping back around via the Highline trail. Definitely one of the best loops north of Hidden Lakes which has been closed for much of the summer.

I live right by Glacier National Park. 30 years hiking in the park and have done the floral traverse twice, the normal route is from Logan pass to Lake McDonald lodge. They added on miles by going to through Gunsight area, to hike in the dark at hidden lake is a dare above all dares as it is a dinner plate for Grizzly bears. that area is the highest concentration of Grizzlys in the lower 48s and loaded with huckleberries. you passed by more bears than you know. You guys are fun to watch love the intensity

yes. Aug. 2 is peak floral time.
I did part of this hike(Logan pass to Sperry to Lake McDonald) in 1987. Unforgettable. I've hike numerous times since to the ridge at the far end of Hidden lake to view Avalanche Lake where my parents ashes are. And I've have wandered down into floral park on a couple other occasions. Hidden lake itself, has been a destination of mine at least 50 times. It is my fortress of solitude.
Good video. Nice to see those places from far back in my memory

Welcome back to Montana, thank you for your fantastic content. You should check out some fun outside of the Park. I'm sure you get too many suggestions, but take a look at climbing Mt. Grant from the East, traversing to the summit of Stanton/Great Northern, then descending to the West via the normal climber's route. Beautiful photo opportunities with two different glaciers. You could also check out a winter tour to summit Grant and Liebig from the East.

Awesome video as always guys! Frankly, with 80F+ temps, I'm amazed Danny didn't start suffering earlier, but glad for his sake he didn't. Danny, please tell us you go out with some form of satellite PLB (position location beacon) just in case this heat sickness ever gets too extreme, particularly when you're on a solo mission. I reckon the guys could get you out as fast or faster, as it would take 'search & rescue' when you're all together.

Great stuff, thanks for sharing! Now that you offer merch, I'd like to make a recommendation. Please offer a What-Would-Mediocre-Amateur-Do? bracelet, because I feel it could save lives in the wilderness. All one has to do is ask that question and whatever the answer is, simply do the polar opposite and things should go swimmingly from there! Consider it a public service. :)

Next time run from the Belly River to Kintla Lake, that's a challange. Also stop encouraging off trail travel in glacier. This route has become more and more popular over the years and the park has considered shutting it down due to increased impact from people.

Advice; get yourself in a detox program like the one in Clear Body Clear Mind or get a bottle of Bentonite clay and get the toxins out of your body, the ones that are causing you to over heat yes I mean toxins that cause you to overheat

Wow - this might have been the most mind blowing one yet! P. S. can you drop in a plug for Leave No Trace ethics now and then? I worry about people seeing these videos without the knowledge of traveling lightly on the land.

Floral park is very popular with the locals. You should have added on Gunsight Mountain too, the views are worth the extra effort. Theres so many rad peaks in the park, Hope you guys hit some while you were around.

You guys might like the south rim trail in Big Bend, although thats probably tame in comparison to these adventures. Camp on the south rim and catch the sunrise. Its one of my favorite sunrises ever.

Also, that was pretty good foreshadowing when you guys were crossing that one bridge and Danny's all The most dangerous thing we'll do today. Then you have to navigate bear country in the dark. Damn!

And my thoughts during the second half of the video oh there is about a million ways this could go REALLY sideways, you absolutely crushed that, that takes some serious commitment.

I'm so happy I found other people who are stubborn enough to keep going until they throw up. it's a weird group to belong to, but at least I feel justified in my madness.
