Driving in Austria 1: Grossglockner High Alpine Road dojo: YOUR site is the very first comment/anything posted/done on my very first smartphone. Please explain to me how do drivers not go off over the mountain pass. No real guard rails, no reflection paint, I can't drive near anything that has a deep drop to it. Love these videos, JUST PEACFUL SOUND WITH NO MUSIC. but you must please sale dvds of these trips so I can watch them at home instead of a library. Not sure but did you do one driving thru Hallstatt area and towns? THANK YOU. ps update found Hallstatt

Ive went on vacation in Austria a few years back and it almost didnt even feel like a real place. Like something that existed in another world, disconnected from all the troubles of society.
The recognizable houses almost feel like they are just there for the aesthetic and nobody actually lives there even though that obviously isnt the case.

My late husband and I drove this back in the 1980s all the way to the top, stopped for coffee and then noticed clouds rolling in. immediately got back into our car and headed down to Austria. in pea soup. Beautiful but oh so frightening! Beautiful memories, thank you so much!

Went to high school in Salzburg and drove this in the wintertime with my mom. Had no clue what I was getting myself into. Easy peasy.
