Asheville & The Blue Ridge Mountains - Adventure is Calling Dont float down the french broad river its completely polluted. Little Switzerland is an hour and a half away from the city and in a different county. Not too many Californians but a ton of Rich Floridians. That coffee place on the river is about 20 minutes down the river from the local landfill. If you want to see the clearest water in America go up to Yancey County Mountains near Mount Mitchell and go find the freaking South Toe river, its clear and doesnt look like brown mud like that city water Asheville. I live in Avl but shoot man its more of a hippster community for young kids with a ton of options for older folks. not many people have country accents like youd expect were actually normal speaking people that live in lil san Francisco in the mountains.

It looks like North Carolina has gotten absolutely trashed. Last time I was in Hendersonville I remember the water being a lot clearer. What's with all those rivers I wouldn't let my dog swim in that water! It looks nasty. Those Rivers look more like a swamp in Florida than a river! I live out west and our river water/streams are Crystal Clear you can practically drink it. No wonder everyone is moving from Western North Carolina to Boulder Colorado.
I have met a lot of people down there from Western North Carolina that recently moved there. I was curious why so many people were moving there and I assumed it was just the fact that we don't have humidity out here.

if you wanna flow through shit river, where all the local companies dump, then you can come here, don't expect to go downtown without a form of self defense due to the riots and aggression towards tourists. so come to Asheville, get drunk off our breweries, or turn out like all the crackheads that beg for money to buy heroin like all of the ones you see AT EVERY GODDAMN REDLIGHT IN ASHEVILLE. I was an Asheville native, and i have watched its downfall. I will never raise kids in a place where i have to worry about their safety like i have to in downtown Asheville, just because our beliefs may differ than others.

I have lived here for decades and have yet to meet anyone that moved here from California. The people that move here are mostly from Florida and New York that don't need a job. If you are young, the service industry is most likely in your future. Obviously, this video was created with great drone footage of the area but the creator needs to either live here for a month or stick to videos of their own city. As for river activities always check to make sure the water is safe to swim and tube. The French Broad is notorious for not being safe to be in.

Asheville used to be a beautiful place to live. We lived there our entire lives till it really started goin down hill. Even more glad to be away from there now. You seamed to forget to tell the people about the blm autonomous zone downtown, and all the damaged buildings downtown, the black tarp over the Vance Monument and the fear of just driving downtown. Maybe if the mayor and city council were replaced soon the city could be saved. Anyone planning to visit, maybe this will help you make a better decision.

Beautiful surroundings but I was pretty underwhelmed with the city of Asheville itself. I guess Knoxville has me spoiled, more to see and do and a better variety of dining, shops and microbreweries. The so called arts district in Asheville was a disappointment too, just a few old and unsightly buildings painted with grafitti and a coffee shop. the surrounding area is gorgeous, Mt Mitchell is one of my favorite destinations, but Asheville itself doesn't live up to the hype.

11 million visitors a year and second home investors have created a false economic bubble that is seriously screwing the people who live there. 200 evictions this week. Property owners making vacation rentals and pushing out the very people that service and feed all the tourists that provide the attraction. Plus the generational locals cant even afford the property taxes on land that has been in the family for generations. But money is more important than people.

This man does not live in the areas he is reporting. Frenchbroad river is highly dangerous. Do not touch the river water or bottom mud. The local folks do not often drive the blue ridge parkway fog falling off the side of the mountain. Respect when local folks tell you not go into areas or roads
Folks volunteer hunderds of hours to keep the high quality of lifestyle. do not bring your negative issuse and illegal bussiness to these areas.

Hey there neighbor (I’m from Riverview, Fl) I love your videos and I feel like I’m living through you right now but please make sure your lens is clean before filming. I notice a lot of smudges on clips. We went up to Asheville last year in October and loved it there. We’ve been considering moving to NC to the mountain areas. If you go to NC again check out Beech Mountain and Boone area. It’s stunning!
reply

Although Asheville is very beautiful with a lot to offer. To many people come to visit and then decide to buy vacation rentals. I moved away in oct because I could no longer afford to live by me self. No jobs unless your in medical or service industry. All the people being rude when they visit here and all pretentious people moving in has ruined it. If you love Asheville enjoy it from a far.

Land of heavy traffic, land developers clearing tree's, and highway's filled daily with fresh road kills.
Great job promoting the blind eye, to negative environmental impact tourism/human population has upon Asheville and its surrounding. May you experience the same health as Asheville's natural environment is undergoing.

I love this state so much! Asheville reminds me of my hometown, Hillsborough, just bigger. It's a place I have been drawn to for a while, may need to finally explore. Although I completely understand those saying do not move there. The same happened with Hillsborough, too small of a town and too many people.

The video does a great job showing off the beauty of our mountains. However, was this filmed during quarantine I'd love to know where those quiet empty streets are located! Also, if you travel to the mountains, under no circumstances should you refer to it as Appa-lay-shun. It's Appa-latch-in.

Grew up in NJ. Went to school at USC Columbia. My area of interest in Asheville. Will you accept me as a conservative I've lived in San Diego for the past 21 years. Asheville seems to be the best of the best! Not bringing any socialist agenda. I'm a tried and true conservative.
reply

Asheville is the worst. Traffic is so bad you can't get to the parks in a timely manner, and once you get there it's over crowded. If you get to a waterfall there are so many people you can't enjoy yourself. Do yourself a favor and skip this WNC. French Broad is full of E-coli.
reply

Asheville is getting ready to vote on the funding the police if so the truck drivers will not be bringing food Or anything else because they declared months ago that they will not be delivering 2 cities with the funded police too dangerous for the driver and the cargo
reply

Why did the narrator have to say thats why California's are moving there there not moving, there infesting, yes, there leaving CA. And bringing their beliefs with them to ruin the rest of the country. Be careful of these over liberals.
reply

Ashville is expensive. It is also very cold for much of the year with lots of snow in winter and flooding sometimes. Rich Cali transplants and their children flooding into Ashville, and politicians they worship have ruined it.
reply

Liberals have absolutely ruined Asheville. It's saddening. Homeless camps, needles on the sidewalks and bums on every corner. I used to go there every weekend. Now I will not go near it. Awful Liberal cesspool.
reply

Plz don’t move here it’s already to crowded and the natives that grew up her we can’t afford anything The average house is $300, 000 knowing who’s lived here for the whole life can I live here anymore

How could an Asheville travel video not mention the Grove Park Inn Glaring omission. The most beautiful sunset view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. At least have a cocktail in the Sunset Terrace.
reply

thought the light quality on the video was ok, too many glares. can you not edit and bump down the exposure or back down the highlights. to me made video washed out and drab
reply

definatly dont go to marshall, its in madison county, and all i can say is that if you're not from madison, you best not stray off the main roads. seriously
reply

Asheville used to be cool; especially bel chere, but now it's just a bunch of hippy stores and microbrew bars. Pretty lame in comparison to 20 years ago.
reply

How long before the BLM hoards show up with their identity politics and ruin the entire beautiful area Or, have I been asleep and it's already happened

The taxes in NC are also about the highest in the US. Retirees are charged nearly $7, 000 on an income of less than 50K. Stop kicking old people, please.
reply

I been staying around Asheville NC area for 5 years and I love it My favorite thing about it is the Pisgah national forest. I'm from Tampa FL by the way.
reply

Why even advertise. Who would want to come to Asheville while people are protesting I wouldn't, so you are just wasting money on advertising.
reply

As a life long resident I wanna know how you got all that downtown footage without all the traffic and homeless people laying on the sidewalks
reply

Asheville is a very trashy town. Theres great restaurants and pretty areas outside, but the amount of dirty ass people is mind blowing.
reply

Go downtown and see all the homeless people and freaks bumming and littering. This place should be bulldozed over, and start again.
reply

Yankees have destroyed WNC. Just like they did in the north east and Florida. Crowed. Crime going up. Cost of living going up. Ruined.
reply

some comments appear to have wound up on the wrong clip, because they describe frankfurt germany rather than what's shown actually,
reply

Just discovered you, I have just changed my plans for the day so I can watch several more of your videos! Really well done!
reply

I've been visiting Asheville for years and have friends there, it used to be a great little city but the politicians have destroyed it
