And the Merritt is just as bad as 95, there's just no rigs allowed on it. But there's no shoulder for most of it so when (not if, WHEN) there's an accident, you're literally trapped.
The trees are so close to the road, or the embankments are too steep, so you can't even off-road to get around. I've been stuck for 2 hours on the Merritt before. I DREAD driving on that road.
And the deer here are suicidal. They TRY to get hit. They even jump onto moving cars. Both my mom and my sister have had deer jump through their windshields! My mom nearly took a hoof to the face when one jumped on her windshield!

Hartford has great live, professional theatre: Hartford Stage; The Bushnell; Theatre Works. i live in Wethersfield which is home to The Old Wethersfield Historic District. Some of the best dining in the area with The Charles being the newest and highly praised. Fall is a great time to be in the 'village'. It's fun guessing if the house you are looking at is a home, restaurant or museum. Great pizza at Village Pizza and of course, ice cream treats at The Main Street Creamery!

You nailed it on this video! i've lived here my whole life(38 years) grew up in Fairfield for most my life. the only thing i think you could have added to this is the trout, bass. fishing and all the rivers and streams to fly fish or just regular fishing for all types of fish. then we also have the orchards to go apple picking in the fall like Silvermans farm in Easton on RT 58.

Don't dismiss the UConn Womens Basketball Team. even though they haven't won anything since 2016.
Don't bother the peacocks at the Bearsley Zoo. Just because they are free to roam the park doesn't mean you can annoy them.
Don't forget that CT has a bunch of exits on the left side of the road.
Also CT people can be called Connecticut Yankees. not sure why though.

Thank you for an object overview of CT. To many of these you tube videos are made by poeple who have never actually visited the place they are talking about and contain a lot of BS and stereotypes. One putz claimed CT is haunted and there is nothing to do there. Really? Two of the largest casinos in the world, boating, hiking, bike trails, etc, but nothing to do?

Bring a hat because the past few years it's been unusually windy for some reason. if you smoke, don't buy them in Ct. there either 3rd or 4th highest prices in the country. the waters not as clean as Jersey or Mass, Rhode island either. Basically everything is expensive. I'm a life long resident and I wouldn't recommend Ct. for a vacation.

I live in CT and you really got it right! I might add you can find small sandy beaches perfect for a sunny afternoon If you are willing to pay the $30 non resident parking fee for the day. They definitely arent Florida beaches but are well kept and big enough to enjoy a few hours. (Waterford Beach, for example.

Expensive
- Hudson to NYC (the part south of the PA line)
- Around I-86 (Southern Tier Expressway, the old NY-17)
Super Expensive
- NYC
- Adirondack Park
The rest of NY state is comparable to OH/PA/WV - except avoid PA gas taxes.

As a CT resident, my biggest tip about visiting Connecticut is to not visit Connecticut. Connecticut sucks.
Also, we're not a basketball state, there is one university that has had recent basketball success. The only people that care are students and alumni.

I highly recommend the beardsly zoo and other animal habitat centers. A majority of them are non profit, rehabilitation places and are really great for the community. They deserve our support and I always enjoy going as someone in my twenties.
