The 10 weirdest European foods that I have eaten. Some taste great and others are great to throw away. Here are some of my favorite funny foods from Europe. Kepta Duona from Lithuania, Frog Legs from France, Haggis from Scotland, Trip soup from Romania, Pigs Ears and More Delicacies

Haggis is actually mafe from a sheep's pluck, which is the heart, liver, and lungs, well rinsed, minced, mixed with minced onion, pinhead oats, possibly certain seasonings, stuffed into a well rinsed sheep's stomach, or alternatively sausage casings from beef intestine, then simmered until done. Still waiting for a chance to try it. Can't wait!

tripe soup is not made from intestines: ) it's cow's stomach boiled until very soft, and the soup is not made with butter. it's the water from boiling the tripe, vegetables, sour cream, garlic and a bit of white vinegar. it's absolutely delicious when it's well done.

did you ever eat Pannas when you were in germany?
for all other Pannas is a kind of cake made of blood and bacon which is cut into slices and fried in the pan, eaten hot, just as blood sausage or black pudding
a delicacy best with fried onions and potatoes

Mark, you disappoint me a little bit. Pizza is a Neapolitan dish. They have different food in the north.
Also, how about spaghetti al nero di seppia? Spaghetti with black squid ink? Unusual and not as gross as some of the dishes you mentioned.

Blood pancakes are very divisive in Finland too. A lot of people don't like them, I find them tasteless and given the choice I don't eat them.
On the other hand, blood sausages are very good and a must try in Tampere region.

Schmalz is actually the Polish smalec. Very popular in etno themed restaurants and on traditional weddings. But I don't know which one has been first. By the way great series to watch. Greetings from Poland.

You've forgotten french andouillettes on the list. Ugly smell and taste. After eating I could not get rid of the idea that I've just eaten poo. The best part of the meal was throwing up later on.

Darn, I thought we might get Northern English Black Pudding (Fried pig's blood, eaten for breakfast) - but maybe I can see why it didn't make your list - wow! ;)

Pigs ear no thanks! Dogs get them as a treat and they stink really bad. I dont give them to my dogs because pig products arent really good 4 them

You dont want to try other Romanian dishes? Too bad for you. Romanian food is the best. Sarmale is my all time favorite dish. Give it a chance.
