Blue Bell Ice Cream! Chicken fried steak, Beef brisket with beans and potato salad. The potato salad is with mashed potatoes and mustard served cold. If the parking lot has few cars, SKIP IT! Roadside vendors can be awesome also. Skip the chili. It is the kind you put on hotdogs, without beans.

I tried brisket for the first time (and only time ) in Dallas. I could kill for brisket (#pregnancycravings) but there's no way I'll be able to find that in Spain is it something you can find only I'm Texas like a local specialty or maybe in Southern states?

carne guisada! Must have! If open minded goat brains and eggs! So much more to enjoy if you get off the freeways and find small town family run restaurants, food trucks, shacks, and even gas stations (not 7/11 style but real kitchens in the store.

Great video. Texas food is where Cajun meets, Mexican, meets western, meets German. Its all so good. If in the east side of the state you must also have the mudbugs, Texas Koloches, and Texas boudain.

When I was in school in Texas we had what they called Mexican jambalaya. It was white rice, Frito chips, and no bean chili. It was so good. Great Texas dish.

You're right about the bbq. It's ALWAYS beef. And it's never pulled or shredded. It's either on the bone or sliced or chopped.
