I went to Medical School in San Pedro in 2014/2015. About half my classmates had been robbed and or knocked out/attacked by thieves. They were always alone and all but one that I heard of, late at night. I was never attacked. I put the fear in the one drug dealer who threatened me for not being a drug user/buyer. I never went out alone at night. In groups of 2 or more no worries (if you are sober like I was. Nice beautiful people, but the criminal element is more brazen there because they simply hop on a boat and skin out until the corrupt police get changed out for other cheroot police then return to the island to rinse and repeat.

I see a lot of people saying belize is dangerous. i can assure you a midnight walk in the bronx or LA will get you robbed or hurt. Of course if you come here beleiving you gonna be some drug lord you gonna be in trouble. You mess with being in a gang you gonna get yo ass whooped. You mess with the police they gonna smack you. You mess with anyone around the world you be in crap. All that is plain logics. I always say hang with the right people and be humble. I been here for many years now and i can tell you word for word i prefer here than anywhere else in the world.

Had a gun pulled on me at the split in caye caulker. that was my last visit there! I will never visit again. I traveled there 17 times before that happened. Gun was pulled due to mistaken identity and the 3 rasta guys were high on crack. I know this because the dumbass criminal told me that he was high on crack. I was with my coffee in the morning bothering nobody. Belize will never change, and I mean never. Its a damn shame for the 3 or 4 good Belizeans that still live there.

How is this; 10 years there was the Aussie that hosted a wildlife program. He goes Snorkeling and takes the hit when a Stingray nails him thru the heart with the thorn in the tail of the Stingray used for its protection. Why does this not happen to snorkelers in the video with all the Stingrays going about?

Im a dual citizen of belize and U. S. its safe outside of belize city most tourists get robbed trying to buy druggs as long as yournot the stereotypical drugghead American and have basic common sense you will have an amazing time. Btw checkout truly wild belize. Based in placencia best tour guides

Anywhere is dangerous if you make dumb choices! I travel to Belize alone as a female with my seven-year-old son and we were totally fine! :-) Belize is a wonderful place! The people are friendly and the landscape is gorgeous! Just make good choices and everything will be fine!

Come on! Type in tourist attacks in Belize and see why the US governement issued a level 4 warning. Guys like this are just reporting from his own ignorant perspective. Its not just like anywhere. No police here and the people will not get involved if your attacked by criminals.

Im going there when Im a junior I think thats the conversion but Im watching a load of videos for advice bcus Ive been told its bad for gangs (Im from the uk) and I was worried but after watching this I cant wait it looks like such a beautiful and diverse place

I went on a cruise last week to believe costa maya and Cozumel and we didnt plan excursions or even get off the cruise for Belize because we met someone while eating on the cruise that got her purse stolen the first time she went

TBH it's pretty hard in Belize, I know tourism is just showcasing the best part of Belize but if u live or just visit villages its sad to see single moms with a bunch of children. Belize is a good place to visit just know where to look
