The snowbirds don't know what those big red & white octagonal signs are, the ones with S-T-O-P in big white letters!
One-way signs aren't big with them either!
Last week I was going south on a 2-lane one way street and suddenly, here comes a car. going north.
All I saw was white hair, and white knuckles gripping the wheel. I stopped, & so did the guy next to me. We were both trying to tell him he was going the wrong way! Here comes the middle finger up at both of us!
Mosquitoes are the state bird!
LOVE BUGS! You forgot love bugs! These things are only here in May & September!
They call them love bugs because they spend their time alive humping away! The female is bigger & she drags the male around by the $&#, and they usually meet their demise on a windshield & or the grill of everything on the highway!
A few years ago I had a friend of mind from San Diego who was flying into Miami for business. She was going to rent a car & drive to Tampa. I said, it is love bug season, pick up a gallon of cleaning fluid. She said no, the rental car people filled the washer fluid up. I said you will need more!
I get a call from her that she was in a gas station trying to get these things off the windshield so she could SEE!
You have to use cleaner, a snow scrapper works good to scrape the bodies off & the juice left behind must be washed off within 24 hours or it eats your paint to the metal! She said at one point she thought she was going to have to call a tow truck as the entire windshield was coated! She had run out of fluid but turned on the wipers & it was a big blur!
The ones due here in a week or so will make the (eggs) babies that will be born in September! September's are making the ones to be born in may!

True, casual is in even Bern's steakhouse is more casual than it used to be.
The best steaks ( aged in house ) with one of if not the largest wine cellars in the world.
And don't forget the ultimate experience is the Desert room upstairs! A life experience! Candle lit with 100 yr old lanterns, sit inside of very large wine barrels and choose from the largest wine and desert ( books) I've seen. Pretty pricey but spend it on a night remember it for life.
Bay shore walk at night, the longest continuous sidewalk in world ( don't try to walk the whole thing unless you uber back to the hotel. Look at some of the most exclusive homes of Tampa with the best views. Look for Derek Jeter's home across the water on Davis islands, an exclusive island for Tampa's elite.
Last but not least visit Donatello's Italian restaurant another high end restaurant but where else can you say you ate at the most favorite restaurant of the one and only Luciano Pavarotti. Pavarotti would fly to Tampa just to eat at Donatello's restaurant for the most authentic Italian food in America.
On a budget pick from dozens of restaurants featured on some of the food network shows like Diners Drive- ins and Dives. Danny's all American diner ( outdoor only) or Tacobus now ten or more locations etc.
No joke the palmetto bugs if it's quiet sound like a Huey helicopter but a lot quiter while in flight.
Oh yea
Plus visit Tampa international airport look for the Jannis display it chronicles the very first payed commercial flight for an airplane from Tampa to St. Pete/ Clearwater( 3rd floor by the hotel entrance)

Having been in Tampa for over 50 years, none of this is true. He is describing the Tampa Bay Area. If you go to the beaches in Clearwater, FL, you are no longer in Tampa, Disney is in Orlando, FL. What happened to Ballast Point, Davis Island, Florida Aquarium, Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, Grand Prix Center formerly Malibu Game Cente, which is actually in Tampa? Traffic is bad because of all the out of towners AKA college students who learned to drive up north. Also, people have too much confidence in crosswalks. I have had people step into traffice when I am less then 6 feet from the crosswalk. You can stop your 2 feet faster than I can stop 4 wheels. Tampa has beaches? Where? Nice try, though.

OH who are you kidding. No one from Illinois goes the speed limit! :D
Don't skip the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. and learn the history about how it came to be. The Chihuly museum. that's in St. Pete, and of course the Trop. Gotta catch the Devil Rays. yes that's the TRUE name of the team.
I almost don't even want to let people know as it's become so overcrowded with tourists, but truly the best beach you'll find in Florida is Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota. It's only about an hour drive south and there's so much to do there as well. Mark could most likely do a whole video on Sarasota. even Siesta Key.

Born and raised in Tampa- and the more you say Tampa in this video, the more it sounds like the most odd word to me for a city LOL
Tip about Busch Gardens/Adventure Island. They are in a pretty rough area of town. They were built so long ago and the way the surrounding neighborhoods developed- it's definitely not what you would picture to border a theme park, ESPECIALLY if you are used to Disney/Universal or even Legoland. Just watch your surroundings and if you leave the park at night, wait until you are somewhere else to stop for food/gas.

Listen you ass. Please stop acting like you Tampa for your cringe video man. People from Tampa don't give a damn if you call it Tampa Bay. In fact we like it. This moniker most likely started thanks to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Tampa Bay Rays or Tampa Bay Lightening. It ain't like saying San Francisco Bay. Damn. You don't know jack bout Tampa. If you had gotten your info from real Tampa natives instead of transplantst who've been here two or three years, you'da known. Dude you suck. No offense, but you suck.

Pretty much all the beaches on the Gulf are nice. Clearwater beach has more visitors in one day than all the other could add up in one week. A lot more active and things to do within walking distance. If your looking for a more quite lazy day on the beach anywhere from Sand key to Sarasota very nice. This is coming from a 20 plus year resident.

Just want to point out that its not an hour to Orlando. I-4 is awful so it could easily be 2 hours if you go at a bad time.
Also Tampa has some of the best Breweries (Coppertail, Cigar City, Hidden Springs, 7th Sun)

This guy is right on, budget tips are great, like in Chicago, don't pay to go up the Hancock, go to the bar on 96 for free and maybe have a drink for the same cost as observatory.

I heard my mother's ashes were scattered in Tampa Bay in 1985. An exorcism should be performed by a priest and sage should be scattered.
