sorry but, i need to correct you with the public transport part.
I spent 8 weeks in L. A. coming from London. and although LA public transport is way worse than here in London. It is no that bad, SUPER CHEAP, and always got me to places in less than an hour no matter where I wanted to go. It is about PLANNING and FIGURING OUT the system.
you are speaking as an American who was told that public transport sucks so you never bothered to figure it out. Trust me. It is EASY and hella CHEAP.
also the HOLLYWOOD SIGN part - incorrect sir! I took a hike and found a lot of GREAT spots

What not to do in LA?
My experience is to never go there in the first place.
We're from the Midwest. There is nothing from someone in the Midwest that will actually make their trip worth it to in LA.
Me and my wife have never experienced such rude and pathetic people I have ever experienced in our lives.
No wonder people are leaving by the thousands.
This is a place of the very priveledged.
If your not priveledged, you will struggle to relate to these types.
I'll never go there again

My brain just replayed a conversation I had with a visiting friend:
You should really go to the Observatory at sunset. It's amazing!
What time is sunset
Whips out phone
Okay Google. What time is sunset tonight?
7: 41 p. m.
Shows phone
7: 41. So you should leave here at about 5.
FIVE? We need to leave nearly three hours early?
Yeah, maybe you should leave at 4 just in case of traffic. You know what, leave at 9: 45 and just spend the whole day there.

You absolutely can see celebrities all the time, if you know your obscure faces. Maybe not George Clooney or Tom Holland, but if you know your Kevin from the office level celebrities, they are all over. Be polite, keep it brief and dont bother them when theyre with their kids. But I see someone every day.
Also LA transplant here, never been late a day in my life. Just have to plan ahead.
All that said, this is the most accurate dont of LA video I have ever seen.

PLENTY to enjoy downtown. Grand Central Market, Bradbury Building, Chinatown, world-class - and FREE! - museums on Grand Avenue, El Pueblo - which includes Olvera Street, multiple museums and 19th century buildings, City Hall, Eastern Columbia Building, LA Conservancy walking tours, Bonaventure Hotel, Angel's Flight Railway, live theater at LATC and the Music Center, LA Central Library, Grand Park, Phillippe's restaurant, etc.

LA Guide For Beginners:
1) Have Some Understanding Of Spanish.
2) Wear Neutral Colors Unless You Bout It.
3) Leave You're Favorite Baseball Team's Cap At The Hotel (Unless You Truly Bout It-Bout It)
4) Don't Force Your Culture Into Ours. (You Came Here To Forget Your Culture. So STFU
5) Keep It Real And Speak To People Like You Know Fam. Plus Most Struggle. (So Build A Bridge Of Communication)

Head south from downtown on the 110. Get off any of the next 10 exits for something good to eat. PRO TIP. A LOT of Houston Astros and New York Yankees fans in these neighborhoods. Wear Astros or Yankees gear for extra special treatment. Free meals and such. Actually now that I think about it dont come here. Its an absolute shithole from Long Beach to Hollywood. One of the worst places in America to visit. I promise you.

You forgot 1, Wolter: Do NOT wear SF Giants or AZ Diamondbacks apparel in L. A. There's a huge rivalry between the Dodgers, San Francisco, & Phoenix, AZ, when it comes to the MLB. And don't get me started on the rivalry between UCLA & USC.

I have a great idea for skid row. but I'm not from la. I'm from ny and I don't mean NYc either. upstate. Problem is no one really will do this for homeless bc they expect government to probably pay for it

The public transportation isn't that bad, just depends on where you're going. I used it for years and still do occasionally. L. A. is a car city for sure, but the public transportation gets a bad rap.
