It is sad to know a lot of these places are sitting in ruins after the blast of August 2020, I hope your friend is ok. idk what it is about these places, but I-ve such a strong desire to visit Amman Jordan (Petra, Wadi Rum) and Beirut. the people are so beautiful, love their culture. One thing I don-t understand is that we hear so much about their struggling economy and how people are struggling to survive, but yet I-ve seen shops, offices and apartments, all those places are furnished with high end furnishings, their stores and street shops look like places you-d see in Dubai, so why is the economy struggling? Corrupt leaders? Since the blast, their Government officials have stepped down and quit, so the question now is, who is running their country? Beirut is definitely on my bucket list

Hi Mark I'm from Karachi, I'm so happy that ur in Beirut, it has my memories back in 74 when I was 11, I still remember the dawntown district although I was a kid then I was so amazed by Lebanese beauty of natural environment and the feminine kind, and the food was so amazing. I stayed in run dawn hotel close to the airport, which in those days was the busiest in the region, in 75 the civil war started & after it ended I used to feel so nostalgic about Beirut especially the phonecia hotel and the holiday inn, I thought that things will never improve! But still the Lebanese spirit lives on.

The food looks amazing. I'm actually hungry after watching this lol. If I lived in Beirut I'd be 400lbs without a doubt. Sending prayers to all affected by the terrible explosion there this week - I'm in mo doubt that the damage to this lovely city will be quickly repaired as it has been so many times before #beirutstrong

For those not familiar with pomegranate, not all pomegranate trees produce sweet fruit, there are types that are very sour and some others only slightly sower. The sour type is used to make the sour pomegranate syrup (I would not really call it a juice as it is used more like a sauce.

Beirut and Lebanon should be a huge tourist destination like Nice or Greece. It-s right on the Mediterranean with gorgeous beaches and mountains. It-s not desert like Dubai but nicer weather. The people just can never catch a break.

Damn, this video almost made me cry. Beirut was really beautiful and we took it for granted, now you walk past the same streets and it's dark and empty. What have they done to you Beirut? -

The infrastructure looks like European. The culture is European. The people are white. I didn't expect that.
I think it is near to Europe that is why its like a European Country.
