Mae Hong Son - During my recent trip to Mae Hong Son province in northern Thailand, we had a chance to visit Ban Rak Thai, which is a gorgeous Chinese Yunnanese village in the mountains. It-s a very famous tourist destination, especially for Thais because of the amazing scenery in the remote mountains, preserved Chinese culture, and the tea fields. During our time in Ban Rak Thai () we stayed at Lee Wine Rak Resort , one of the most famous hotels / tea resorts in the village. It-s also extremely picturesque with Chinese style villas going up the side of the mountain and the tea fields. In this video I-m going to give you a full tour of our tea resort hotel room! Small room - 2, 900 THB ($86. 94) per night Big room - 4, 700 THB ($140. 89) per night I thought rates were a bit on the expensive side. But that's probably because we went during high season in the winter. We also had a breakfast that that was served buffet style and included scrambled eggs with tea leaves - that was a first for me! Yong: the tea plantation in Chiang Rai reminds me of Mae Salong. there are several other KMT villages in Chiang Mai established by the Yunnanese migrants including the one on the road to Doi Angkhang. some of them have a tour of their villages and Doi Angkhang also offers the traditional Yunnanese cuisine.
Sri Lanka also offers this kind of resort overlooking the green tea plantations in the form of the colonial bungalows including the traditional English hi-tea meal serving scones with jam and clotted cream, sandwiches and macaroons. the famous Dilmah tea brand offers this kind of resort programme. if you are in Nuwara Eliya, you can stay at a hotel overlooking the majestic Ramboda Waterfall.

Hi Mark, I absolutely love your videos. You always give the entire experience which enhances each of your videos! Thank you. I notice many times when you say -breakfast- it's usually more main dish meals (ex. Noodles, rice, curries, etc) that in Western Culture may be more likely to be ate at lunch or dinner. Is this the norm for -Asian- culture? (Please note that I mean no disrespect using a blanket phrase (ex. Asian, I just know that it seems that far beyond Thailand has this same practice. I hope you and your family are enjoying your travels and are safe. Also, as you've been traveling does the protocol for quarantine seem more extreme or relaxed outside of Thailand (other Asian providences) or coming into the US.

Damn Mark, you really make me want to go back to Thailand! I really didn-t do it justice the 1 time I went. The food is extraordinary with only Indian cuisine coming ahead of it (IMO. What a beautiful village and equally beautiful food, thanks man ---

Such a bright and idillic place. The view from the hills of the village around the lake with the low morning mist feels so peaceful and relaxing. I absolutely adore northern Thailand and I may have to add a visit to Ban Rak village to my next trip.

Come in Afghanistan have a visit here and take videos from Hazarastan, Bameyan, it has so interesting places and historical figures and heritages, like Buda, Zahak city, Ghulghula city and Bnde Amir.
Do not miss there.
Thanks

Excellent it looks really beautiful. Maybe it was more expensive due to Chinese New Year and people taking breaks for this holiday, and enjoying additional lantern decorations around the resort, looked so lovely.

Hi Mark! Not sure if you'll get a chance to read this message. My husband and I would like to visit Thailand one day. Would you ever be interested in being our tour guide for a day or two? We would pay you.
