Who knows - maybe one day Georgia's Upper Svanetia/Mestia region might host a Ski Worldcup one day. it would be awesome! It's not like they don't have any mountains there skiable for international competitions; -) More investment, both by the central government and local regional authorities as well as a bunch of both local and foreign investment could work wonders and seriously boost winter and summer tourism for both domestic and international visitors. I think that region (as well as Georgia as a whole) deserves it. Mass tourism always has its downsides of course, and many of the traditional cultural aspects might (and eventually will, alas) be lost. But, just like from the historical expericence here in Central Europe in the Alps and other areas, I think certain mistakes might be avoided regarding Georgia and compromises will eventually be found. Either way: I think Georgia is perhaps on a good track as many Europeans are getting more and more aware of the country and its cultural and natural beauties. Here in my native Germany, tons of good documentaries on national public TV about Georgia have been made/broadcasted in the past 10-15 years. And Georgian wine & cuisine have been subtly promoted that way as well. We'll see what happens in the future.

Very important Warning. Most of people from Arab counties has hate to travel to Georgia because there are many passengers from Oman, Dubai, Sudi, Qater, Kuwait. etc have travelled to Georgia but the officer of Airport of Georgia has informed these passengers that not allowed to enter Georgia so the officer said to passngers to go back to same aircraft to their country. without any reason. Espically it is not required Visa from these countries according to the relealtionships in both counteies. So in each aircraft the officer has to return back from 5 to 10 passengers but other passengers said no problem.
If Georgia Government use this system then there are a lot of countries in the world better than Georgia.
Please dont travel to Georgia at all.

WHAT a treat! Really beautiful choices of photo/video, you have a wonderful eye and very appealing narration. Hey, nobody complains when it rains in Scotland. Just wait till the ski resorts come up, this place will be over-run with tourists and hotels and shops. Mestia will be the next Gstaad and I will have to be a day tripper. Beautiful!

Gorgeous place. Yeah, it rains a lot this time of year (June) in all of Europe, especially Central Europe, but all over really. its normal, and brings that beautiful scenery.

I definitely agree Georgia is one of the most underrated countries. It is so much beautiful and i live very close to georgia in Turkey. I'm definitely gonna drive to this country
