SUMO WRESTLING Tournament - Tokyo, Japan Alison: Watching this I was surprised you showed up first thing in the morning and stayed to watch Division 6 sumo - the beginners and lowest ranked rikishi. I was very excited that you returned in time to see Ichinojo enter and see the Juryo and Makuuchi divisions. You happened to be there at a very memorable tournament when Kotoshogiku took the Emperor Cup after defeating all three Yokuzuna. He was the first Japanese rikshi to do so since 2006. What an awesome experience!

I live in Japan. I could not stop laughing at the comments on the Sumo tournament. After almost 10 years living in Tokyo, I did exactly the same thing you did, went early in the morning and later realized that the main match is around 5pm hahahahah of course that I missed it, couldn't stay there all day! By the way, I went there for the first time in 2015 too

The afternoon bouts are the three maybe four junior ranks depending on how many of the Makuuchi and Juryo or the top 70 that are entered for the contest and the night bouts. It is only those over Ju (10) ryo and the Makuuchi that wear traditional prematch garb.

I-ve been watching for about a year and decided tonight that I-d start your journey from the very beginning! You both have grown so much but are still totally yourselves at the same time. I can-t wait to see it all unfold from start to finish! -

I have officially come to the conclusion after watching too many foods shows that food on TV always looks better than in front of me. The soup you got for lunch looked better than any Asian food I have ever had.

My wife and I didn't realize how ritualized Sumo Wrestling is. Was there no one there in the morning because those were the less known sumo wrestlers or were they just practicing? . ok let the binge continue!

Don't talk Sumo if you don't know shit. Just shut up and don-t say anything. Go back to america and be disrespectful there.
And don't call it -Sumo Soup-, it's Chanko Nabe.
