I-ve been to st Martin several times and it can be beautiful but it does help to have things really planned. The Dutch side near the airport can be amazing but the roads get flooded easily from the rain and the beaches are small and it-s more industrial. The French side has some of the best food I-ve ever tasted in my life and has some of the most beautiful beaches I-ve ever been to. I wish you guys could experience that (the restaurant I love is called tropicana)

We went to St Maarten about 10 years ago, and the people were so friendly there. We absolutely loved it. Also, 2 natives helped save my daughters' lives due to a near-drowning. My older daughter has stayed in touch with someone from there. The island was absolutely devastated by a hurricane a few years ago, and the hotel we stayed in still isn't finished (it had to be completely rebuilt. We still hope to return someday. It really is a special place.

Guys, you are Americans. Now, you imagine how a foreign legal resident in the United State is treated. Sometimes, they don't ask too much, but, sometimes you need to know what you did abroad, how much you spent, what you did shop, why, for who, etc. But I am really grateful to live here legally. About the place, it was dirty for the first look, quite good. I think in some countries, you need to stay in a good hotel.

They tried scamming you by advertising a nice place to stay for a high fee and then you were basically in a dump. Of course they gave you a hard time because they didn't wanna refund that money! I would've done the same thing, one a/c in the bedroom? The place looked filthy also. Don't feel like you were being a diva, they didn't give two shit's about your accommodations. They only cared about taking your money.

Never mind the AIRBNB drama. this video was that I-m not crazy with the rechecking/not rechecking bags on connecting international flights! We had to be escorted back through security? Customs? Some scary people in uniforms. over rechecking drama. Thank you for posting your travel hiccups.

People do AirBnB scam, If the place is not what it looks like in the picture, report right away and hopefully you get another better AirBnB. It would suck if there are no more available, which is where the scam is based on because they think you will not have a choice but to stay.

Always cancel through Airbnb customer service the second you get push back or a request for off Airbnb contact from the landlord. They take care of it instantly. My bestie works Airbnb customer service and they are AMAZING. I check all my listings with her before I book -

If there is one place this could have happened to you, I am glad it was in St. Maarten, its probably one of the most safest and nicest islands I have ever been to! I felt completely safe walking around the area at like 2 in the morning.
