I visited Varanasi in 1981 and found the banks of the river repellent because of the dirt and squalor. But it was always an intriguing place with people on foot traversing the ghats and markets. Even the cremation ghats had its own atmosphere of peace and everybody was allowed to do their thing. Now that the Government has decided to clean up one small stretch of the river on the way to the Kashi Visvanath temple I hope more people will feel inspired to make the visit and even find permanent abode in Kashi.

A beautiful video, thank you, but unfortunally President Modi wants to modernize the city and gave the order to destroy hundreds of houses around the golden temple. the residents are chased out of their homes and have to move to the suburbs. From the temple to cremation-ghat will come a large road, a helicopters platform and 5 star hotels. I am shocked. I am one of the lucky women who has seen Varanasi how it is ment to be.

Feel immense proud that this is my birthplace, place where I grew Calmness of ghats (place near bank of river, sadhus, Lord shiva, and my lovable brothers banarasi (people of varanasi ) Those thinking of visit here whenever you'll Come here you'll always find their is lot to take but your mind, soul or digital media cameras can only capture little But even that little feeling will give you best of feels in your whole life

Beautiful, but i wish it was one continues ride. It's also terribly sad that no one seems to care for the amazing and ancient temples here. Would love to know which of these building and construction is the original. They are built so beautifully that even with all the neglect they are still standing, albeit precariously. I hope the people of India take the initiative to clean up this wonder of the world.

Thank you so much for such a beautiful video. I wish video length should be more. I am from South India, after I saw your video, I have visited Varanasi with my mother, wonderful place. Sitting on the bank of Ganga river and watching her calmness is feel like heaven. Only one thing I didn't like here is Panwalas: . They don't know how ruin their beautiful cultured city.

Washing of clothes on ghats is something we can avoid to maintain sanctity, at least something can be done to ensure they have separate designated place, I know it takes time and the role of locals is more as much as pilgrims visiting the city, not sure when we are going to see that day.

I visited Varanasi in 2010. I visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Sarnath, Ramnagar, BHU and those beautiful ghats (Ganga Aarati in Dashasamed Ghat) of river Ganga. I want to visit again this holy place. Thank your for uploading this video. Watching it in 1080p quality.
