BEST LOW COST AIRLINE IN AMERICA? Southwest Airlines Review lajoyalobos2009: Even the few times I have had issues with Southwest (common issues you could find with any airline, they bent over backwards to fix them. We lost a stroller once on our way back home. They sent a guy to find it. He sprinted down the jetway, down the stairs, and dug through the bags until he found it. He ran back up the stairs and the jetway and breathlessly asked if it was ours. Unfortunately I rarely carry cash on me, otherwise he would have gotten a generous tip. Poor guy, but very much appreciated. We were on our way home and no rush was necessary. Another time, our flight was delayed 5 hours for unknown reasons. They simply printed tickets for the next flight and gave them to us. Why fly any other airline when you can fly Southwest?

Southwest won me over after my bag didn't make it to my final destination due to a delay. Their staff were kind and supportive, they covered my clothing costs (casual button down shirt, t-shirt, underwear, socks, toothbrush, and eventually found and delivered my bag to my hotel. They also sent me a voucher for the inconvenience. The entire time they were responsive, helpful, and communicated very well. Delta, meanwhile, screwed up my flight and their gate staff were rude and dismissive. AA has filthy planes and poor stats for on-time service and bag handling. I'm SWA loyal now. When you're away from home customer service matters a lot. I'll take that over fancy lounges, first class seats, or other unnecessary perks.

Back when I regularly flew from San Antonio, TX to Sacramento, CA to visit my mother before her passing I preferred Southwest over any other airline. They tended to provide the most direct route and great service. I love the way they board too. Little things like a lid on my drink is very important to me which Southwest provides, unlike many of the larger carriers. I had a bad experience as a child with a coke drenching me after some really bad/scary turbulence and since then I much prefer lids on my drinks. Southwest has them. No question they are my favorite for quick domestic flights. Edit to add. they were great when I flew with a severely injured right hand and needed minor assistance because of it.

I cannot stand Southwest. No power ports on their airplanes, so if you are doing a long flight on them you will be out of juice 1/2 way through. No option of a club/lounge on layovers. They are frequently not the cheapest option. I hate having to line up and battle for a decent seat, and I cannot stand their silly theatrics, if I wanted to go to a standup comedy show I would have. I do not understand why people like them. They are the double wide trailer trash of the skies.

Just flew them from FLL to MO to all the way to Wichita it was great service through both flights. My dad has a chronic foot and leg condition so they even accommodated by giving him his own row and me and a row, and on the full connection they at least were nice and gave us a our own row and I got my window and my dad got his leg room, Also both flights I got to ride in a 737 MAX, its a very nice aircraft. I know this is long but I had a great experience with them myself.

LGA is my home airport and I can definitely say theyve made A LOT of improvements and it has gotten much MUCH nicer, especially the main terminal. Main Terminal definitely had that dreary and outdated look that it was in serious need of an upgrade. Now if they can get this LGA air train going and underway then it would be even better (although Willets Point/CitiField being the transfer point location from the air train to the subway really doesnt make much sense.

I was interested to see what you first time experience was going to be. I first fly SouthWest in 1985 and ever since if SouthWest fly that route, thats who I flew. The SouthWest people love their job and they love their customers. A very happy airline with very happy customers. The only airline that even came close as a genuinely nice experience to fly was British Caledonian back in the 1980's. Still my best transatlantic flights. Very sad when BA took them over.

I try to fly SWA exclusively. Sometimes this isn't possible when flying out of regional airports. I'm slightly biased as I worked for them a few years back. They were my favorite domestic airline in the US before being employed with them, and they still are. They've got this low-cost business model down to an art form. Their employees are always so friendly and helpful, unlike the big boys where I feel like just a number. Well, more like cattle.

They are affordable but still almost close to price range with other airlines like American Airlines, United airlines, and even Delta. At least Southwest airlines does not have the ghetto crowd that you see whenever you fly with very cheap airlines like spirit airlines. Thats why whenever you fly with Southwest theres always a good crowd of people. And more frequent flyers use it because its easier and baggage is amazing.

Wow it is not often I see a video featuring Terminal 2 of STL airport, one I use quite often when I visit family.
It used to be a hub for the now-defunct Trans World Airlines, and then American Airlines afterwards, but after AA took away the hub status, it didn't take long for Southwest to take its place, and now, unless you're fiercely loyal to a particular airline, Southwest is usually the way to go.

Laguardia is getting much better. Last time I flew into that airport was late Sept 2019, the new Terminal had opened, and it is spacious and beautiful. If you fly in there again you will be pleased with the improvments I think Noel. I also love Southwest, I rarely fly any other airline (but I don't fly very much like you do. Going to Cincinnati and Chicago on Southwest in September, great video!

I always fly Southwest if they are going where i need to. Once leaving Tampa the planes was late because of a storm in south Florida. We left Tampa 40 minutes late, they don't mind burning fuel to stay on time. My arrival in Phoenix was was only a few minutes late. On other flights always arrived on time or early. Southwest is the way more airlines should be like, always fun crews.

I know this is an older video but even though Im an aviation geek, I took my first flight a couple of weeks ago via Southwest. Im glad I did. Loved it, it was such a great experience and they definitely earned their positive reputation. Plus the legroom on their 737-800 was excellent. It was just all around a good experience and I cant wait to use them again.

Music sucks. Jerky video. hard to follow. Hard to hear you speaking so softly in the terminal with heavy UK accent. CC sucks: (announcement upon landing STL) happy after this Quaker and stuff Sara Lance would like to be the first one to see where you being seated with your seat bones fascination you carry on items. Kill the music track altogether.

Southwest does something very unusual in the airline industry. If theyre running late, they hurry. Ive seen them turn around an aircraft in Burbank that came in fully loaded and departed fully loaded 15 minutes later. In Burbank they use both front and rear stairs as their terminal doesnt have jetways, but using both doors speeds up the process.

Ive always loved flying Southwest! My family flies them for pretty much all domestic flights. It was especially great when my sister lived in Houston. Their main hub is Hobby airport, which is almost exclusively Southwest planes and consists of only one moderately sized terminal. My sister lived just 20 minutes away making it very convenient.

I've flown with Southwest and they are definitely one of the better low-cost airlines in the US. I've had the pleasure of being one of the first passengers on the plane, and I took the opportunity to sit near the front with a nice view of the engine. It was a lengthy flight from Seattle all the way across to Baltimore.

Happy that Joel enjoyed his Southwest Air experience. One of my
closest friends from college has a son who just went to work
for Southwest. The early 30 something yr/old pilot answers to
Jake & resembles a young version of James Arness of Gunsmoke,
TV show fame. SW Airlines is one of my favorites too!

Flight attendants shouldn't hold the glass where you are needed to touch the glass with your lips! I know it's the most stable way of holding the glass, but still. When that's said, South West is one of only two American airlines I'll fly with. Alaska Airlines is the other one. All the BIG ones are TERRIBLE!

One time when I was flying on southwest our flight was cancelled because the plane we were supposed to board had a birdstrike. Everyone was very kind and we were on the new plane in 15-30 minutes. Proof that southwest is a high quality airline
Edit - Coincidencely this happened at Midway
