My Flybe flight got CANCELLED: ( jerry2357: I flew from LBA to Southampton a few years ago, when the flights were actually badged Eastern Airways, not sold via FlyMayBe. It was a blast from the past, because there was no online check in.
It was also a very windy day, and the flight was heavily delayed. Using Flightradar24, while I was waiting at Leeds-Bradford, I actually watched the preceding flight from LBA to Southampton circle several times at Southampton before attempting a landing. I also watched the same aircraft fly back to Leeds-Bradford before I used it for the next flight south.
It was still very windy for my flight and it was a bit of an exciting approach at Southampton.
Due to the delays, I worked out that I would have been at Southampton sooner by taking the train. But the return flight a couple of days later was a different story: quick and efficient.

I was at SOU a few months before you to go on my annual holiday to my family's villa in PGF. I went with flybe and I was delayed around 3 and a half hours because our aircraft was stuck at BHD with a technical issue. It got to the point that Flybe wanted us to go so they swapped our aircraft with one that was meant to go to EDI. We left nearly 4 hours late for PGF and since it was an evening flight almost everyone wasn't in the mood to have a laugh with the very cheery cabin crew. Then the EDI flight was delayed till around 8PM. The way back was worse as we were supposed to land back at SOU on the return flight at 20: 15 but then due to an ATC issue in the morning our flight didn't land in SOU till around 21: 50 and I didnt make it back to mine till around 3AM

(Noel this is not for you but the jerks who feel obligated to rip into airline employees) The sun comes up in the morning it goes down at night, everything else is a crapshoot. To be upset because you have been inconvenienced is illogical. The airline has no control over the weather, if you want to have a higher possibility of ending up dead, flying into a 45 mph crosswind is a good way to increase your odds. Airlines May have to close up shop, like other businesses they can run out of cash, it happens folks live with it. While youre yelling and cursing at an employee because his or her airline has had to cancel flights, pause and think of the person who is losing their job dealing with the anxiety that comes with financial uncertainty.

You got an Uber?
The next time you fly into Manchester with a layover I think you should use the tram! They are made by Bombardier which manufacture most FlyBe planes. There are many cool destinations in Manchester to go to aswell.
If you like shopping?
Trafford Centre (Quite close to the Man U stadium)
The Arndale (Right in the city)
If museums are your thing?
MOSI is the best Ive seen in Manchester
Or you just want to settle down for a good nights rest?
There are plenty of Hotels and Premier Inns in the city centre and in the suburbs
So if you do end up in Manchester again, make the most of it! :D

Very pleased you got your compensation sorted out. We took a Swiss flight out of Zurich to LCY back in June (Bombardier CS100 as it was called then) that turned back after 20 mins with cabin pressurisation problems and ended up on several hours later on anA321 to LHR. The food voucher bought us a stale cheese sandwich and a bottle of water with very little choice and we've had problems getting compensation (eventually they paid out our Heathrow Express to Paddington fares but no statutory compensation. Always thought Swiss were a good airline, but not so sure now.

With Leeds being the highest airport in the UK conditions can change extremely quickly. I was in ATC on Wednesday 12th December and we went from great vis conditions into LVPs within 7 minutes. Couldnt see the jet2 737 on the apron infront of me, nor any runway lights.
Only aircraft that came in in the 3 hours I was there were 2 Ryanairs a jet2 and a Primera delivery for jet2 going to multiflight. Every single aircraft using R32 on ILS CATIII.
Hope this clears up why it was diverted and how quickly conditions can change.

So glad I stumbled across this video. I flew Flybe from Edinburgh to Belfast (George Best) in later May 2019 - in a De Havilland Dash 8-400. It was a short flight. Easy on, easy off. Left my hotel in Edingburgh, walked about 100m to the light rail stop, which took me right to the airport. Breezed through security (made the security guy laugh, got to George Best, took an express bus in Belfast that was 400m from my hotel. Flybe is as of mid-July 2020 in administration (basically out of business) - think Thomas Cook UK.

Hi Noel, I've watched a lot of your videos but this is the first time I've commented on one. Sorry to see that you didn't have the best flight. Hope you have better luck next time. As you live in Nottinghamshire I assume your nearest airport is East Midlands? One of my Aunts (my Dads sister) lives in Ashby-de-la-Zounch, Leicestershire, do you know it? East Midlands is her closest airport and dead easy to get to from her house. I love watching your videos, they're so relaxing, keep them coming. When's the next one?

Wow I guess accuracy and research arent the characteristics of a blogger. Firstly the flight went no where near London, secondly, Southampton city centre is 7 mins away by direct train and the station is just seconds away from the terminal building, Thirdly, Id have thought the blogger would have known how to get to Manchester airport as he uses it for his rare hidden flights.
Still drama does catch peoples attention

A great video, and well done, as a special passanger agent at Gatwick airport it is so annoying when we get passangers that we are trying to help having a go at us, as we are trying are best and also a lot of us are avation fans too, the other month I spent 2 and half hours after doing a 10 hour shift to help a lady and her son out, so before you have a rant spare a thought for airport staff as we are doing are best.

Having used to work for Flybe I know for a fact that they cancel flights all the time because of technical issues or weather because its cheaper to refund the few passengers on the flight then put the plane in the sky so 99% of the time its all lies. I know theyve gone under now but if you all think back to a flight that was cancelled because of this that is the reason.

I am watching these videos with a sense of nostalgia. 2018 when this video was uploaded, flights being cancelled due to weather or mechanical issues, resolved quickly and soon on your way. 2020 - Flights cancelled, countries borders closed, airlines collapsing and travelling almost anywhere by plane is almost impossible with no sight in end to this nightmare.

I'm a Uber/Lyft driver in Las Vegas and I had a passenger that needed to head to St. George, Utah, about 130 miles away or 2. 5 hours drive. That was one of my best fares plus a distance and destination bonus ($225+ $150 destination bonus + $50 distance bonus. The passenger tipped well and actually paid to fill my gas tank both ways.

It's not the airlines fault, Great British public are rude and will try everything in their power to get something for free when a flight is cancelled. If it's down to weather the airline should just refuse to compensate passengers and get them on the next flight. You can predict mother nature.

I'm surprised you folks don't have a rail re-protection agreement with National Rail. Where I'm from (Canada) in these instances, we could get rebooked on a Via Rail service to our final destination supposing Via Rail services the city in question. At least that's the case with Air Canada.

Hi Noel. I'm in agreement with you that Southampton airport is a bit on the shabby side, and I live here and have flown from there once before. And if i was that taxi driver i would be the same, certainly the most expensive gare ive ever heard of. Anyway look forward to the full video.

Who were the ground personnel at Southampton Eastleigh - were they FlyBE's own 'bods' or from a handling agent? Usually it's Swissport staff who are responsible for the ground ops side of FlyBE. Interesting to notice how at this location Swissport don't handle anything for the Carrier: o)

Your lucky. Three times last year my Flybe flight from Soton to Amsterdam was cancelled no less than 3 time in six weeks. Then another cancellation from Amsterdam back to Soton, so had to fly to Birmingham instead. With bus ride from Birmingham to Soton. Great.

3: 30 Not really acceptable is it. Not acceptable? The flight was cancelled due to weather, what can the poor lady do to make it acceptable? I seriously commend any one that works in customer service. Having to deal with grumpy old farts like this guy. Jeez.

In these situations I always wonder why these people both berating the poor girl who was sent out to deliver the options from high above. If you wan't to complain ask for a manager. The poor girl is not 'taking your money' pathetic.
