SHOUTED AT by Russian Flight Attendant on a SOVIET Plane!
video description
) A few years back, I was on a flight from Charlotte to Frankfurt with them, and things went really wrong. The first to attempts on boarding were canceled with about half the passengers on board, citing technical reasons and bringing in a different plane. The third plane (same type as the first one, no need to reassign seats) seemed to be airworthy, but we ended up not getting the extra legroom seats that we had paid for (needless to say we never got our money back, but instead ended up in some tight seat in the back of the bus behind a row that was a designated crew rest. As soon as the cabin crew was allowed to get up, a flight attendant came around, wrapped a curtain around the seats and slammed back the seatbacks of both empty) seats.
With things being as tight as they were, I politely asked her if it's possible to keep the seatbacks upright while nobody is in the seats, explaining that I totally understand that if somebody is taking rest they may want to recline, which I would be totally fine with. She shouted at me THIS IS A CREW REST SEAT, IT HAS TO BE LIKE THIS. Needless to say, nobody used the seats during the entire flight, but the seats stayed all the way reclined until our descent into Frankfurt. Thanks, American Airlines, not gonna fly with you guys again. There is one major carrier from your country who's alphabetically the next in line and they don't treat their passengers like that.

Mr
Look one hates to be the mithering nit picker, especially as the overwhelming majority of viewers seem to enjoy your charting of the less bling, more basic and off the wall flights (which incidentally i second) - but admittedly with the benefit of more hindsight and perspective than you had at this time - however you might perhaps now own that this seems a little light on emotional intelligence in the light of everything that was certainly well in train by the time you filmed this?

Great video. Thanks! Love the older planes. Flew Maya Air once in Belize. Great experience. an older prop plane, sorry, not sure what kind. 9 passengers and the pilot, very tight. Absolutely marvelous until the landing, a dirt track in the jungle. difficult to actually see it! The only building close by was a wooden hut with nobody in it. so we followed the other passengers through the jungle to the little town. Happy days.

You're quite an adventurer Noel. as myself when I travel the world, I flew on a rather similar old aircraft from LAM (Linhas Aereas do Mozambique) and one the tires burst just when we touched down in Maputo; and this clip and the aircraft for me? simply brilliant! loved it

The luxury of the gauzy curtains and the tapestry. the ambiance of a noisy bomber/cargo/passenger aircraft the assorted inedible snacks and the angry terse terrifying flight attendants, puts this flight in the number one spot on my bucket list.

6: 00 great view of the prop spinning up. Thanks for risking being detained by the KGB to bring us this film. 11: 58 How were you able to film Olga and say Dasvidaniya without her complaining about the camera?

Honestly it was pretty ballsy continuing to film, they very well couldve radioed ahead and you wouldve been met by some kgb and rushed off to an interrogation room somewhere.

At least you weren't slapped like my mom's friend was by an Aeroflot flight attendant for not obeying her commands. This is the honest to God truth!

You may be the last person from USA to visit that small town and fly on that plane for decades. I am surprised Borat wasnt on the plane with you.

You could have asked Olga for voiceover for it's time for the Noel Philips loo review. That would have made this trip more enjoyable

Not surprised you were shouted at. They must be used to westerners taking the Pss out of their facilities and equipment.

You're a brave man. Don't think I would have the stones to fly in that tin can that was built when I was 6.
