Edinburgh, Scotland: Iconic Castle 615jenkins: The tall, oblong building at 0. 10 is the New Barracks. 76/78, I occupied the room 2nd (visible) floor up, 9th window from the left. The Royal Military Police Duty Room was directly above me. I was 17 and a half years old and when thereafter, I was posted to Northern Ireland, I left a piece of my heart behind. Beautiful video. Thank you. And by the way, I once heard the guard tell a loud and garrulous American tourist that the Latin motto was actually Mind yer heed on the way in!

It's been a while since i visited Edinburgh Castle, even though it's only a 10 minute walk away from my house. I'll need to head up there for another look around, once the 'tourist season' has eased and it's a wee bit quieter.

I was there and saw the William Wallace statue and the first thing I thought was. that doesn't look a bit like Mel Gibson; ) ok, maybe I didn't really think that.

That was a very nice bit of historical information, I can't wait to go see and hear more about when I travel there soon hopefully.
