One remark, Not USSR flag, but Estonian Soviet Republic flag was used in Soviet times, USSR flag is different. Overall nice historical presentation facts are given correctly, rather in other cheap videos about Tallinn spooking Soviets in wrong way, because the hosts usually have not prepared well enough. i was living half of my life in Tallinn in Soviet period and after and could say it was good times in Soviet and the worst after in 90s. Nowdays it looks good and kept well, country maintenance is good, but economy and future is under big question for me. Still better without modern corrupt Russia.

Helsinki and Tallinn have such a nostalgic meaning for me. The picture in this post is even from our friends' summer home at Kisko. It's sort of my alias, as is the name I use here! ha More seriously, if any reader hasn't been to Helsinki and Tallinn, you're missing an amazing experience. Do your homework first because it will be much more meaningful, especially read about The Singing Revolution. And cheers to the A family in Helsinki!

The cities must be interesting and beautiful for sure. But what really shines here is the way Rick describes and presents the cities to us.
He does it with so much passion, insight, and peace, it really makes me want to visit all those places!
Right now, we can't travel and explore the world, but once we get over this whole situation, I'd like to be able to pin a place in the map, and just get the ticket!

Tallinn and Helsinki are my favorite places to visit in Europe. I have been to Copenhagen, Stockholm, Rome, London, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Dublin, and Oslo. these two hidden gems are my favorite. I usually fly into either Tallinn or Helsinki and def visit Tartu as well. The midevil city of Tallinn is bigger and cooler than Stockholm imho.

American propaganda!
No wonder. Rick Steves you like the US imperialism wich killed so many people in the past and still do.
You seem like a nice person. So i dont understand how you can be so anti communism. Wich in every way is better than American capitalism.

After watching about these two beautiful cities I can't wait to travel there and experience it myself. I am looking forward someday to do just that just as long this country has peace with them. Maybe Russia has peace with them also, I hope so.

13: 46 Estonia built their new economy and tax structure on economist Milton Friedmans brilliant free market ideas. As could be expected it has worked out very well. The young Estonian leaders who chose this course are heroes.

Nice documentary, but these to put it frankly, are boring cities. You can find all of these landmarks in many other and more accessible cities in Europe. This should be visited as a last resort, and not as a tourist hotspot
