We follow the trail pilgrims have trod for centuries, from the French border to Santiago de Compostela in the northwest corner of Spain. Along the way, we stop off in Pamplona to run with the bulls, and dive into the unique Celtic culture of Galiciawhere Riverdance meets flamenco. 2010 Rick Steves' Europe

It is very dangerous to be chased by a bull! I remember when I was 9 years old in summer camp, I was wearing a red jacket and walked by a bull who suddenly chased me. I started running very fast and could hear its heavy steps behind me. I thought I would never be able to stop running and run away. Then suddenly a man appeared who said something to it and took the bull by its horns and stopped it. It's very scary to be chased by a bull!

Rick steves I love your videos but I hate when you say at the end until next time keep on travelling. If I could travel I wouldn't be at home whatching your videos. That makes me feel so frustrated, recalling me that I am not travelling. Can you stop saying that? Why don't you say until next time, keep on working? That would be much more realistic.

Gallego IS NOT a mixture of Spanish and Portuguese, like it is said in the video, it is a roman language as well as Spanish, Catalan, Italian, French, Portuguese or Romanian. You should take a look into it and maybe correct that mistake by posting a message here. Thank you.

Galician language is not a mixture of Portuguese and Spanish language, but the origin of present Portuguese language. It was in the 12 century when Galicia and Portucale split becaming two different counties. Both share medieval literature. :) cheers

I love alll your videos. But for this one I should choose another type music. Spain is so rich in music, and dances. The folklore in the north, the music and the instruments are completely different than in the south.

Rick, hats off if you manage to walk the 197 kms between Puente de la Reina (not pronounced Ri-ena, btw) and Burgos in five days. The average pilgrim will probably take about eight days.

I am of Northern & Southern Spain extraction from my mother's family. I am definitely of Celtic & Germanic as well as Roman, Italian, Arabic (Moorish) and Jewish extraction!

Spain has its distinct civilization which has not been noisily commercialized. How could I find out about this, if not for Mr. Steve's thorough presentation!

I did El Camino. I loved it! What I don't like in this video though is the bull run in Pamplona. I'm against it. It's vile!
