One of the best things to do in the life is to admiring the sunshine from the Gianicolo (one of the seven hills of Rome.
For many reasons:
It's the best Rome view. In the quiet atmosphere of the Gianicolo park you can see the marmoles of the main monuments at sunshine light becoming orange/ going on fire and you see in front of you like a big history book at open air.
The perfect place is the terrace of the Anita Garibaldi monument (incredible women, incredible history too)

Wife and just got back from a 1st time visit to Rome in July 2012. What a wonderful city full of historic sites. We can't wait to go back! Rick, we stayed at Campo di fiori. Our apartment was upstairs looking over the restaurant Filetti di Baccala. We also went on the twilight food tour (eating Italy tour company. Both were YOUR suggestions. Restaurant was good and the food tour was an experience of a life time! Thanks again Rick.

Apparently middle class Italians can still afford to live in their city. NYC does not really have this that much. I guess you have to go to a New Jersey mall or LA or to find something similar, regardless of nationality.

I liked Italy so much, I visited back in 2002, and Rome was one of the cities we visited. Thank's to this video, this is the first time I've seen Trevi fountine at night!

I tossed my coin into that fountain back in 1994. so I know I'll go back to Rome one day. just hasn't happened quite yet. :)
