Another awesome video from y'all! As a carpenter who learned the trade from my dad(a residential carpenter\framer for 40 years)I really enjoy your videos of you and your dad building things together. They remind me of all those projects that my dad and I built over the years that we worked together. Though, I'm not sure how y'all manage to get through y'all's jobs together without any of the arguing or yelling at one another that seemed to be required on virtually anything we ever built together! Lol! He passed away 5 years ago and I wish I had thought about videoing some of the stuff that I built with him. It would be really nice to have an archive like that to look back on any time you want! Anyway, y'all keep doing what y'all are doing and I'll keep looking forward to y'all's videos! Oh, and the treehouse looks awesome!

brother. this was lovely. was so nice to see how much your kids have grown too. You're lucky to have them and to have such quality time with your old man, them kids are lucky to have a grandad like that. He reminds me of my grandad who sadly passed back in 2009. Very similar Silly Humour & able to fix anything. different mentality. I have to make a wild guess you guys are from around Hampshire area, near Basingstoke. But your old man doesn't have the old old Hampshire accent. So I am wondering what neck of the woods he may have grown up. Keep up the good work mate. Sending best wishes to you and your family.

Treehouse is looking brilliant! Seems like you have a decent amount of room inside it. I have a burning question: what is your toilet situation. We dug a hole and made a make-shift toilet 'seat' out of 3 osb pieces and a cut hole in the middle, the same size as a toilet seat and pop a toilet seat on top. seems to work fine. Of course, throwing the paper away or burning. The 'waste' seems to rot away once you cover with leaves and it's all gone next time we are at our forest spot! maybe the squirrels eat it!

First video of yours I'd ever seen was that first pallet cabin in the woods. I never forgot you explaining to someone that it wasn't meant to last the ages, it was just a guy and his dad having fun in the woods. Or something like that. From that time on, I've enjoyed so many of your videos and was so excited to see how big the kids have gotten. And your daughter asking who had made which things made me think that one day she'll want to be building with her Dad! Lovely to see your wife again too. Enjoy!

cant agree more about the kids: i would prefer they were not included in the videos. i enjoy the family content and your dad is super cool, but i skipped over all of the stuff with the children because i just don't like seeing them in media at all. while im confident you are a kind and responsible person, too many people use their kids for attention or force them to be in the spotlight for selfish reasons, and too many such cases involve child abuse of some kind.

I felt like an old cousin who's been away for a bit. I think the last time I saw the kids, they were a toddler and a baby. Now look at them! Thanks for that bit of sunshine! I had a good laugh at mum trying to stop those cups of marshmallow with a splash of cocoa hahaha. I imaginge there'll be some kind of overhead being added next to the treehouse to keep the missus dry and shaded on other trips

Great job mike. Tip here from a carpenter, when you're ripping down any timber that's thick like that massive plank of oak adjust the depth of the saw and do 3 or 4 runs, adding about 10mm depth each time, its counterintuitive but its actually quicker than letting the saw struggle and you put less strain on the motor.

Dad and Grandadjust off to build a treehouse for the kids. the kids and Mum, yeah whatever, not too much sugar now the pair of you.

Lucky kids. My older brothers and I found an abandoned tree house in our small town when we were kids back in the early 70s that actually had a wooden staircase attached to it. It looked pretty old and had a thick rope for climbing. All the neighbourhood kids apparently knew about it and we took turns using it.

Egg shells throw into fire. I remember building an elevated cubby for my girls
Log cabin style 2. 8 m x 4. 2 m which has survived with 2 other families hopefully more a very sturdy building. Still remember my dad saying don't bust your boiler pushing up the sides by my self. When I was in. early. 30 s

Check out bluyeti I think that’s how it’s spelt as well, they have a solar panel pack recharger as well to charge your battery generator while it’s in use or when it gets low. The backpack version could probably fully power that cabin for a day maybe even two. And that’s they’re smallest generator

Totally disappointed. You could have built a great campground for you and your family by now. But you went on this whole weird expedition stuff, and you lost me a year ago. You drew us all in. I'm gonna be the caretaker of this great land and you totally drop the ball on it. Totally disappointed in you.

I wish my own dad was more of the outdoors type. He'd rather play video games and watch Faux News than go hiking with me.
I keep inviting, always to no thanks or just silence.
I have seen so many times that you already do, but take an extra moment to enjoy the time you have with your father.

Beautiful little tree house. That would be awesome for spending weekends camping in. Maybe some Thompson's water seal sprayed on with a backpack sprayer to help preserve it. I can see your children growing up, coming home, and wanting to go back and see it and revive some great memories.
reply

Good to see you out with the children. Like you I have a daughter and a son. The daughter is the oldest. They were raised in a small town in South Carolina. Now she lives in New Orleans and getting married next week. My son lives in Nashville. They grow up fast so enough each moment.

My Dad was an engineer. Could fix anything. Operated and fixed massive equipment in big plants. But even he probably would not have been able to come up with this kind of build. So, my hat is off to your Dad, T. A, and to yourself for your innovative build! Congratulations on this one!

As a Big Sister, I loved seeing your children interact with you and the treehouse. Their personalities are so interesting! When you said the pallet cabin was seven years ago, my mind was blown! Lovely how your family has grown.

Mike, this is probably your best ever video. From the days of you and your dad making fishing videos to all the bushcraft content, and now your young family experiencing the outdoors together. It's beautiful to see.
