Perfect content, very useful especially as I’m only just getting into the idea of bushcraft and looking at instructor led courses as an intro. Balanced view and not an advert leading people down the all the gear no idea route. Really great thank you, some things there that a beginner would want along with more experienced and people who have decided that this is something they want to pursue more avidly. I used to camp a lot so some of this was just really good common sense advice and some items are far more bushcraft related. Seriously great content, thank you.

Love that headtorch! I use it every day, I carry it on me to and from work. I use it on site, the headband is cable tied to my hard hat. Great selection of light options including red. And I used to have the LD15R which looks so similar that I asked if the 15R's magnetic tail cap would fit this one. And they tested it for me and yes it does. So if anyone else wants this but needed it to stick to metal objects too, theres a way. Just buy the replacement tailcap from Fenix.

Hey man, what should I focus on with limited time How should I go about learning bushcraft and survival skills practically Where should I start Also it's cold outside and I don't mind that at all, but I get sick often afterwards, what should I do I am 18 recently and finally managed to battle out my parents to allow me to go camping more freely. I have some experience, it's mostly theoretical but I've been camping maybe like 10 times in. questionable conditions (for me.

Man, makes me think how mild your winters are. I haven’t a while, but do go camping when I can. In the winter. Very cold, icy, snow and wind here in Idaho. You need a fair amount of stuff to go winter camping. And you’re gonna be cold a miserable for at least part of your trip, haha. Up in the mountains, easily below 0F often well in the minus two digit range, without wind.

Perfect explanation, just perfect. This is a gear collection that's more than enough for a good start.
Ofcourse there's one that always has personal additions, but that's for everyone different.
Great video, many thanks, i'll definitely use the list to compare it with my backpack and further organize my backpack.

I like that your sleeping gear is in the bottom of your bag, but in wet weather you would be placing your bag in wet leaves or grass, why not put your sleep gear in a heavy garbage bag that way you don't get wet and the garbage bag could be useful for several things if need be, ground pad, poncho, shelter, pillow.

I understand why you would carry snare wire ie when the SHTF. However your viewers should know that setting snares in Scotland is illegal. don't know about the rest of the UK. Always check the law when buying and using kit/tools to keep yourself right.
Enjoyed the video, thanks

Thank you for reminding me to reorganize my pack. It was a bit heavy on my last trip as I have a tendency to add things i mean to test and forget about them.
I've not seen the baby clothes pins before. I'll have to keep an eye out for those.

My problem with the packs is always space for food. I always assume I have to pack 2 weeks of backpack meals. This allows me to bring normal food for a weekend.
This pack would be great if the pack was 60L and the lid could be used as a day pack.

Love the videos. You are a superbly skilled woodsman, and very good at conveying knowledge in front of the camera. Hats off to you. The pack is mostly brand tax and aestethics, rather than value for money. Rest of the kit looked superb

That titanium grill is genius. I’ve used a similar one for fish and bacon, and the weight-to-strength ratio is unmatched. It’s nice to see you keep it year-round definitely one of those underrated essentials that never leave the pack.

These kits always start out good and then wander into silly territory.
Here is my blanket, my hatchet. the matches, oyster knife, etherial oils kit, etc
The checklist you have to go through each time you leave the house is crazy.

This video was great, covering your kit. However, can you do one on review on tents for camping in the UK. I know you have shown many over time on your videos. But what stood out the best for the many on the market for 4 season use

One item missing from the medical side of your kit is a tourniquet (Or I was blind and didn't see it in there) A simple CAT is a great, affordable addition to your medical kit, and can really make a difference in a bad situation.

You know so many in and outs about common objects and how they can be used. You should make a codex! Thank you so much for the video, love your content - you have achieved a very unique style of videos which are very enjoyable.

The link for the bushcraft knife don't actually have any bushcraft knives llisted on their site, and almost everything they do list is sold out.
Any other recommendations for getting a similar/decent bushcraft knife

Very very informative Michael you make me remember my time in the Scouts and camping into my 20s. I'm now 73 years old and I would love to go camping again but heath won't allow me sadly. Good luck to you Michael.

I liked the video. I enjoyed seeing how to pack a knapsack. The water purification system was good to learn about. Your presentation was very clear and well done. Thank you for all your hard work.
