Great stuff I don't know if you guys have Avon in the UK, but if you do they have an excellent product called Skin-so-soft and in that line they have one with insect repellent. I use that as my skin gets irritated by Deet. I was most recently on a campout for 3 days in Georgia and had no ticks and very little mosquito bites. I think that it has the same active ingredient as the Sawyer. Also, I am glad to see someone else using the fire steel in the manor that I do. That is the easiest in my opinion. Keep up the great work

over here on cape breton island your camp would be shredded and gone from the wind. wind up to 240 km/h. keeps yards nice and clean tho. treeline is a time capsule. further in, the older the stuff. going back to the '50's. mountains funnel the wind. called les - suetes. happens on only two places on earth. here and south africa. watched them put up a huge wind turbine. didn't last long. back to a nice clean field again. regularly, high-sided vehicles get blown across fields. lots of fun.

Essential peppermint oil (safe) rubbed into skin and natural skeeter bug repellant - can't stand the smell and thick aroma - they stay away. Can also use very small amount of citronella essential oil misted on clothing, boots, boonie cap, and rubbed in and this will surely also keep bugs away. Or burn from (iodine rich) sphagnum moss, chaga, or kelp and that will chase everybody away (except the Lagvulin scotch lovers. Time for some beer can chicken.

Always enjoy your videos my friend and of course the music. Well I don't want to leave your dad out. Its cool to see you to together and how crazy funny you two are together. Knowledgeable and I learn so much from just watching. I appreciate what you are doing and keep up the good videos. Its starting to cool off here in the Mid-South (Memphis, TN) here. We are in the fall weather now. Colors start changing and things turning colder for sure.

Great video as always. Good job sending Joe back to Ontario. The Virtus Utilis is a great knife I have the same one with Thuya Burl Scales. Love it. Coghlans grill works great too. We use the same one. Cheap grill that works wonderful. Just goes to show you don't always have to buy the most expensive gear. Did you enjoy that Steak? I use the srongest deet I can get. 96%. I don't use it all the time. But if you don't use it all that often then you will be fine. I use it because it works better than anything on the market. In Kentucky, the bugs will eat you alive. (edit: I read a comment from someone saying it doesn't work for ticks. It works for every insect)Keep up the great work Mike

Hey Mike, great video buddy just back from a one nighter in the lakes took the wife along too, got the same grill. awesome grill isn't it had a great night was quite buggy till we threw a few old pine cones on the fire which worked really well to drive them off. We will however try hammock camping next time. Love the vids keep up the good work buddy.

I'm in the southern U. S. too and my inlaws raise chickens so we have a nice place but its still a chicken farm so bugs everywhere I cant leave the windows down in my truck for 2 secs and its full of flys and in the evening the knats are relentless lol everyone else says they r used to it but i dont think i will ever be used to it lol

July in Central Florida, yea we got bugs. lol. just got my new hammock with built-in bug screen as well. they are nice. for insect repellent, look for skin so soft sounds daft I know, but it works great around here. good luck and great video man, can't wait for the next one. Cya.

This may seem like a weird question, but I'm 5'3 and I was wondering. how would you suggest I put up the earl like that for hammock sleeping. I've tried rolling a log over to the tree and I still can't seem to get the lines high enough. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you
