What Happened? I always thought the Lake District would be a beautiful place with naturally tree-clad slopes and hills up to the timberline. There is no place for wild animals there, what is that? And there is no place for nature. Where there should be nature there is only a desecrated landscape, DENUDED of its trees, grasses, shrubs The Lake District is A Land Robbed, A Should Be Wilderness Robbed of its trees, bushes, grasses, weeds, mosses. How can anything be expected to grow such a violated place, when there is nothing to anchor it into the soil anymore due to man's activities, trees cannot reseed, they also need animals who unlike man help and support nature to thrive. A land robbed of it's innocent animals, who were robbed of their lives by man. Now there is no soil of course after man denuded it of it of its trees. Long ago the soil was washed off the land by the wind, rain and the snow, It is now A Ghost Land robbed of it's Natural Beauty. Look what happened to it? Why? It is A shame. I'd rather a bear outside my tent. At least I can hope to understand him if he is there

Another nice video mate. For around 4 years I have been wanting to buy a roof tent as well. It pretty much can fit on any car. I did not think it was so big inside. Keep up the good stuff mate. Ps: In your other videos of the cabin the, the video comment were all in portuguese. Was that you or it automatically translated to portuguese as my settings and country of account in Portugal? But no other videos had portuguese descriptions. Cheers

Mate can you please stop calling your Ute a Truck. It's too small to be a Truck - it's fully a Ute. Trucks are for yanks and delivery drivers. Please call it a Ute (or a Humpy if you like Africa. Really happy to see you are using OS maps - and using them properly too. Not many (if any) countries are as lucky as England having that level of mapping. Just getting my RTT trailer built. Will send pics when it's finished.

Great video Mike I manage one of the many outdoor shops in Keswick and drive over Whinlatter pass to work I probably drove past you or may have even had you in my shop Been watching your videos for a while and reminds me how lucky I am to live and work in the stunning national park. I go out wild camping all the time and like to watch videos like yours to see what other people get up to also.

Great video again Mike. It blows my mind how easy water filtration is nowadays. I havent had to filter water since my ATC days but back then it was still the boil in a mess tin and add some iodine tabs to your water bottle. Tasted rank but did the job. Me and my mrs are aiming to walk the South Downs and Cotswolds way in the future and something like the sawyer mini will be a god send.

Hi Mike, did you have many other vehicles pull in the car park that night you were in the roof tent? Also would you say that there's a slim chance you can get moved on? Only ask as I hope to wild camp in the lakes in the near future and want to get some use out of the roof top tent, ive added the car park you stayed at in this vid as a POI so I can head over and try it out Cheers, Aaron

I had not watched the video yet when I posted my comment. I see there are a few places with some nature. I wait to see if there is any old growth and how old. but from a previous video and the beginning of it, looks to me that much of the Lake Region is very far from its original pristine state of the rich dense forest. In The Canadian Rockies, you know how nature should look.

Sorry I love your videos but I was taught that volcanic activity was not what formed the contour's in the lake District it was carved out in the last ice age. This was about twenty thousand years ago by glaciural erosion. Further north did have volcanic activity Edinburgh castle is said to be built on an extinct volcano. If I'm wrong sorry. Great video keep up the good work.

When I saw the Drone footage I first thought about permissions. Like in America which is really prohibitive in National Parks. But sure enough the Lake District does not require a licence for non commercial flight as long as National Rules are observed. I really like Drone footage, a great way see the Landscape. Enjoyed your film Mike.
