Reminds me so much of my Ol Man. sadly no longer here. could see projects build up in front of him. You are so lucky to have him. and a fisherman too.
Some of the music reminds me of the old country boy who used to visit old country men doing their skills. Jack Hargreaves.

one point for improvement: there should be a roof over the corner between door and porch.
that way you could get in and out without getting wet in the rain.
I like this build a lot.
It is the right thing to build it while the kid is to young to really play in it, that way it is finished in time.

The love of a grandfather for his granddaughter is precious. I have a granddaughter too she is the love of my life. For her I would fly to the moon and back. This is something she can cherish for ever. Your Dad is a lovely man. Hope they both will have a very long time together. Cheers mate.

A Society grows great when old men (No offence Graham, your fitter than me ) Plant trees who's shade they no they will never sit in. What a lovely gift from a Grandfather, Mikes daughter will forever know how much she meant to you long after you have gone. Not for a long time yet!

Mike your little girl is a very blessed little lady to have your Dad as her granddaddy. I'm convinced she is going to be thoroughly spoiled rotten as she should be. I waiting for the episode of Totally Awesome Fishing when she gets to go fishing with her Granddad.

Lovely project looks good. Love the little glass window. Only thing I would say is slates will need an eaves slate or just slide some of the old felt up on the joins on bottom row of slates so no slates will have to come off.

in parts of the US we'd need permits to add a structure like this to our uproperties. It would fall under a building permit. /do you in the UK have to get and use such permits for such structures as a play house?

Your dad is so lovely! I remember my dad building a play house for my sister and I from a shipping crate! We thought it was a fairy castle! Your daughter will have many happy memories in her little village.
