Astoria is great but, just across Youngs Bay is Fort Stevens State Park which has a Civil War Earthworks, several WWI/WWII Batteries with a museum, a Native American Longhouse, the Wreck of the Peter Iredale on the beach, several lakes, the South Jetty of the Columbia River with an observation Deck, a wildlife refuge and tons of bike paths connecting it all, not to mention, lots of camp sitesPortland is OK but, just stay out of downtown unless you enjoy being assaulted by Antifa terrorists and druggies/panhandlersScrew Cannon Beach. It's Oregon's wannabee, upscale destination where people with money, drive up and down the main drag, looking for a place to park just so they can spend their cash on over-priced trinkets and such Seaside is a much better place to visitI can't believe Newport isn't on this list with the Aquarium, the Bayfront, the Lighthouses and Rogue Brewery Just South of there is Seal Rock State Park where the view is just breathtaking There are so many great places to visit along the Coast that you'd need a couple of weeks just to visit them allOh, and Lincoln City blows as well as Cannon Beach. One long stretch of bad traffic and nothing really there

I was born and raised in Bend, Oregon. I love it, but boy has it changed. Population 12, 000 when I was born in '79 with three stop lights and now its well over 100, 000 when you include just outside the city limits. Sadly many of the people who moved in are not like the native Bend people, but some are great. It is pretty crowded which stinks because you know how it used to be. The real estate prices have also been driven up immensely and the lot sizes have shrunk in most new neighborhoods to where you are 5-10 feet from your neighbor. The city planners often plan for how things are right now instead of for the growth which can be irritating. Back when it was a mill town my husbands family used to call Bend: poverty with a view. Its a different place now.

Just stay away from portland and salem. Those two cities ruin Oregon. Along with the Californians that dont know how to drive and find everything fascinating enough to drive 15mph under the speed limit to see. General rule is to go where the people are not. If you come across a weird highway go down it, if you see a couple trucks parked along side of the road and its not hunting season, then there is a good chance there is a sweet fishing hole or swimming hole there. Honestly the best way to explore oregon is to not be a tourist. Go places you see pictures of in newspapers or in restaurants. Put down the phone and the google maps and you will be much better off. Trust me, i have never lived in another state

State looks pretty but republicans keep threatening more forest fires if the state tries to procede with removing Trumps name from the 2020 ballet, this sadly makes the air hard to breathe in my area a lot especially at my age, and even more alarmingly the governer has let portland go the route of so many southern california cities and the homeless rate is epidemic, so many homeless and needy here, many are veterans, and all the governer will sponsor are bills to aid illegal immigrants. Stay away from Portland, antifa spends most of its time throwing bottles and bricks at anyone who isn't wearing a mask. with the governers apparent support, she always orders the police no arrests.

Wow Oregon, you never fail to disappoint. Oregonians ( for those of you not from this state) believe that save from Crater Lake, only the parts north of Eugene are of value. Southern Oregon is amazing. With towns like Ashland, Jacksonville ( 1 of 8 towns in the USA where the entire town is historic, ) Brookings ( the banana belt Of Oregon & best costal weather) & I could go on much longer. But the Multnomah area is SO biased they completely disregard these little gems. I guess its a good thing, it does keep them out of that portion of this beautiful state. Oh, did I mention that the people are way more friendly & real to boot?

I live in Sisters Oregon Now for 23 Years. I live out of town 2. 5 miles on 5. 25 Acres. There were only 911 people living here when we moved in from Cali, Now there's Over 2000 and Growing like Hell. I can look out the back and have Mountain Views. Beats the hell out of Calif and we only got about 4' of Snow and it only got down to -22 for a few Days. CANON BEACH SUCKS. WHAT A YUPPIE SPOT THE WAS. I ride a Harley and I can go out to The and ride 103 miles one way with no Stop and 22 miles the other way to bend with no Stop Lights. it's really nice here and you can get everything you need here.

I am in agreement with the Portland consensus. If someone not from Oregon watched this and then went to Portland they would be disappointed. Portland has a high homeless issue. There are so many other places in Oregon that could have been covered like Willamatte Valley wineries, Ashland with the Shakespeare Festival, Klamath Falls with the Lava Bed Caves and Pacific Crest Trail and other various trails. Mt. McLaughlin could have been featured. Coos Bay could have been featured. I feel like Southern and Central Oregon were severely cut out.

I'm from Arizona. Buf I want to visit Canon beach. is there lots of people? What are some less crowded beaches? Everything is so beautiful I'm finding it surreal that people just live here. and there's so much diversity in nature and things to do Wow I feel I'd just be happy to even just chill on a bridge and look at the water And there's seagulls too Only thing where I live is cactus, empty lots, cement, rock, and parking lots on 115 degree days.
