Slightly silly question: what is the proper etiquette for using an indoor pool in an urban hotel? Do you put on your bathing suit in your room and then walk through the lobby and elevator wearing your bathing suit and bathrobe. or is it considered more proper form to bring your swim suit, etc to the pool facility and then use the changing facilities (locker room) in the pool area before and after your swim?

Booking at a hotel with breakfast at least gives one the option of being able to have that meal when local offerings fall short. Of course, it greatly depends on what hotel one stays at. I've been fortunate that most hotels I've stayed at either have decent room service or a breakfast nook in the lobby. Definitely a plus for me as the guest.

Lovely hotel and in a nice area. This is a must try on my next visit. Vancouver is such a great city and is easy to navigate. I enjoy Granville Island (I could go broke here, Stanley Park, Grouse Mountain or even Whistler/Blackcombe. I have stayed at the Four Seasons and The Fairmount. Both are very nice properties.

Lovely hotel and in a nice area. This is a must try on my next visit. Vancouver is such a great city and is easy to navigate. Last time I was there was at the end of October and the fireplace was on. I was sitting those seats front of it every chance I had. Because we don't have the fireplace here. Such a wonderful hotel with amazing art collection. I only drink coffee and orange juice delivered to my room for breakfast.

Vancouver is my favorite all time North American city. I particularly enjoy Granville Island and Stanley Park. Any travel companions that are with me know that a day trip to Victorias Butchart Gardens are de riguer.

When on holiday, I prefer to book without breakfast: gives you an excuse to check out what the locals eat. Besides, except for in Asia, breakfast buffets in 4 and 5 star hotels are monotonous.

Try Panda Pod Hotel, no breakfast but they are the only hotel charges less than 100/night (in summer and after tax)You can take the money and get any food you want.
