United Airlines B777 First Class San Francisco to Honolulu (oldest B777 in the world) Constanze Steegmiller: after saying that the A380 is ugly, I shouldn't even talk to you; -) but. why are you so nervous flying over water? If the plane crashes it makes no difference if it crashes over water or over land. For someone that flys all the time, it surprises me. Next time just let me fly with you and I hold your hand, ok? :-) My dear fightend flyer, since 1956 airplanes have come a long way, but. in 1956 planes didn't fly very high and not so fast. A ditching on the ocean is very dangerous, not like on a river. Even on a river it is dangerous, bst is if a pilot can land on a runway. Why even think about problems during a flight, just enjoy the flight and that wonderful meal. I always say, when your time is up, it makes no difference where you are.

my favorite airplane is the A380 On your video it says United Airlines B777 First Class San Francisco to Honolulu, but this is business class, right? I feel so sorry for you and your fear, I used to be that way with flying periot. But say to yourself, it is just like flying over land, ony over water it is usually less turbulent. Also remember, it makes no difference where you crash, dead is dead. Anyway, you are much safer on an airplane flying over water than driving to the airport. you need to quit thinking about having to ditch, you make yourself nervous Watch a video and pretend you are flying over land.

Back in the 1970s, I flew as a Director of Passenger Service for Continental. I used to fly weekends. Saturday = LAX-HNL-LAX and Sunday the same thing. When passengers asked me if I was concerned about flying over the water, I would tell them we couldn't possibly land in the ocean because our uniforms weren't wash and wear When I flew, our aircraft were either three engine DC-10 or four engine 747. When I was flying with family a short time ago, I was asked what ETOPS meant. Rather than the real meaning, I just said, Engines Turn Or Passengers Swim.

i wish i could help you off of your fears. but to answer your question. i am no pilot but i think they are trained for it how can they not but still have the rafts live vests and all that. i am pretty sure they are trained and maybe they even have to have a training once in a while to be sure it goes well in case of that its needed. i allways fly from Amsterdam to Orlando, also a big big part where its water i have never been afraid and trusted that if something goes wrong the crew knows what to do.

Is it possible to have a connecting time of only 40 Minutes from overseas international flight to domestic flight? Normally the minimum connecting time is 90 Minutes at SFO. How did you go thru custom and immigration, picking up and dropping off your luggage and walk from international terminal to terminal 7 which UA uses at SFO? That is very challenging. At least your checked luggage shouldn't have made it. -: )

Thank you for this video. This is the crappiest business class youve covered in your videos. (Not your fault at all) Im shocked at the high school AV room- esque type layout and basically the utter lack of privacy. United wouldnt have to tackle me to get off that plane, I would go willingly. Frankly Ive been to gay bathhouses that had more privacy than Uniteds business class. So not worth the money

Only United Airlines would jam 4 strangers together in a 2- 4 -2 layout and call it first class. Oh and a Welcome Drink in a plastic cup? Nice touch, stay classy. Still, they offer the best of the two options for a Business Class direct flight from New York to Honolulu. A fully lie-flat seat, very good meal and beverage (code for booze) options go a long way on a 12hr flight.

Thanks for the great video I have been flying as a passenger for 35 years and will be taking my first trip to Honolulu in June 2018 for my birthday. I am hoping that there is not much turbulence going or returning home to San Francisco. I just returned from a conference in Denver and the flight was so bumpy. I am still a little nervous.

I have a feeling I have viewed this marvellous trip report before. Thank you. How did you enjoy the backward facing seat? I last experienced this many years ago on a Vickers Viscount. I hope you have been able to overcome your fear of flying over water. My best wishes to you and for a marvellous Holiday Season.

I witnessed when this oldest B777 first laded at SFO on a ferry flight from Seattle, Washington in 1995 As an AvGeek, I drove to Burlingame near SFO International Airport, parked my car at the Marriott Hotels parking lot and waited for it to land. I will never forget that day
