I need to go back to Hawaii. I last went in 2010 and I always stay at the Royal Hawaiian because I adore it. But in recent years I've stopped going and I've been visiting new places. I got back from Vietnam two weeks ago (loved it definitely going back. I went to the Seychelles for the first time in march again loved it. I visited Rwanda in June different but still loved it. And my wife is taking me to Mauritius in a couple weeks time for my birthday. But I still miss Hawaii and I am definitely going back in 2018. Thank you for the Vietnam videos I'm so happy I went there that was a great recommendation I am definitely going back.

The beauty of the Kahala Hilton is that its quieter. There is shuttle service to central Waikiki. My preference is the Halekulani. Its just a bit more refined for my taste. . I enjoy Oahu because theres so much to do other than the beach. I have cousins that retired from the mainland. One settled on Oahu (Kahala residential district) and the other to Maui. The Pediatrician like me, went to Oahu and my other cousin, the Oral Surgeon and avid surfer settled on Maui. Fortunately for me, I visit both when I fly to Hawaii.

It was a shame that the front gardens were taken back by the Royal Hawaiian Trust (who owns the land---it's on a 99-year lease) to build a ho-hum shopping mall out in front. The hotel has lovely woodwork and details that don't really show up in video, and it was interesting to see the room reworks. I was last in one of the rooms ca. 2005. I like the old girl, but she's not for everyone, and I stay elsewhere but come here for drinks and occasional dining. I recommend the outdoor patio bar by the beach at sunset.

Truly stunning. Your clips continue to inspire me. Honolulu is my favourite place. Many people would find that strange because it is busy and commercial but I always feel relaxed and at peace. I cant afford the luxury hotels but excellent accommodation is available slightly back from the beach. As always I use the Royal Hawaiian and Halekalini for drinks and food and the wonderful ambience. Its been a while since Ive visited hopefully Ill get back one day. Thanks for keeping my dreams alive.

Found out you put the cut scene in reverse at around 15: 50, kinda funny tho. hahaha. Anyway wait for you to visit Indonesia in the future, we have several of your favourite resorts such as Aman (no Six Senses tho, Four Seasons, Anantara, etc. I hope I can do the same thing as you in the future. I'm not the backpacker kind of traveller so your videos are really inspiring for me, but need to work hard for now before try to catching with you. haha.

It's nice to see the old girl again--still standing after all these years. I believe my parents spent a belated honeymoon there after WWII--probably around 1947. They ended up moving to Honolulu in 1970, as did several aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as my best friend. Beach time for me was spent at the far end of Waikiki, near Kapiolani Park. No tourists I think you would have liked the Hale K. and Kahala mo' bettah, bro Mahalo and Aloha

In my humble opinion, this wonderful, iconic hotel/resort is the best on Oahu. Its old fashioned nature is part of its charm. The food and service are excellent. The proximity to other restaurants and clubs is another plus. I also agree that there are some very fine hotel/resorts on Maui and the Big Island. A great video down memory lane for this old man.

Good video. Thanks. This area looks too crowded for me though. Ever stayed at the Grand Wailea Maui? Was there Xmas last year. Loved it. Ridiculously expensive. Other nice places elsewhere. Looking forward to your other HI videos. I just joined SPG. hope to accumulate some points. Safe travels
